The fitted corner kitchen has a cooker, microwave, fridge/freezer and dishwasher. There is a dining table for 6 and a comfortable lounge area with a wood burning stove. A TV with Freesat TV and DVD player is available with a large selection of films. The staircase leads to three bedrooms with original beamed ceilings and pine flooring. The double bedroom benefits from a hand basin and overlooks fields; the twin bedroom overlooks the courtyard and there is a further single bedroom. There is a shower room with handbasin and WC. Traditional shutters are fitted to the windows.
The private outside patio has a barbecue, table and chairs with parasol which leads onto the spacious communal, enclosed courtyard. The large shared swimming pool (11m x 5m) has sunloungers and large parasals surrounding the pool area. There is a large, shared grassed area providing plenty of space to enjoy outdoor games such as football, badminton, rounders, as well as a Boules area, swings and a full-sized table tennis table. The communal games room has a pool table, football table and a selection of games and books. The local wildlife regularly spotted include red squirrels, deer, bats and lizards, as well as many species of birds including birds of prey all making the location a haven for nature lovers. The warm, clear nights give a spectacular view of the star constellations which adds to the overall tranquillity found at Malbernat.

Frayssinet-le-Gélat is located in the department of Lot and we are only 5 kilometres from the Dordogne. The Lot area is famous for its beautiful villages, traditional food markets, vineyards, caves and restaurants and is an excellent location to visit the famous towns of Cahors, Rocamadour and Sarlat, to name but a few!. In addition, for those who enjoy outdoor activities there is so much to do locally including, water and adventure parks, horse riding, canoeing, cycling, walking, fishing, as well as visiting historic caves, medieval towns, churches and castles.
The beautiful, quiet village of Frayssinet-le-Gélat is 1.5km from Malbernat and can be reached via a leisurely stroll through the woods. The local bar / restaurant serves delicious traditional foods. An artisan baker provides freshly baked breads/croissants and cakes and the village shop sells all the basics alongside many different cheeses, meats and wines from the area. A small lake (Plan D’Eau) is found on the way to the village which has an alfresco bar serving homemade burgers, steaks, moules frites and omelettes, as well as crêpes and ice creams.
Cazals is the nearest market town (5.5kms) which has a lively outdoor market every Sunday morning throughout the year. There is a small supermarket for essentials as well as a tourist information office, baker, butcher, pharmacy and a bank. The larger town of Prayssac is 9 kms away and has two bigger supermarkets (both with petrol stations), a good variety of shops, banks and pharmacies. Throughout the year, there is an excellent outdoor local food market every Friday morning which is renowned for being the best in the area. Both towns have a great choice of cafés, restaurants and bars.
