Mougins is a village in the Alpes-Maritimes department of the Provence-Alpes-Cote D’azur region of South Eastern France.  It is located in the hills above Cannes, in the district of Grasse. Mougins is only a 15-minute drive from Cannes. During the 19th and early 20th centuries, the village was a centre of floral production, producing lavender, roses and jasmine for the perfumeries in nearby Grasse – even today when you visit Mougins you’ll note that in the village centre there are pines, olives, and Cyprus trees.

The Museum of Photography in Mougins has a permanent collection of photographic portraits of Picasso, as well as many other artists of the period.
