The Manoir is the main farmhouse and benefits from its own private parking, entrance, garden and swimming pool to the rear and overlooks the shared courtyard to the front. Built around the 17th century, the renovaions have retained its natural rustic charm with many original features including classic oak beams, pigeonnier tower, stone sink and a walnut staircase running to the first and second floors.
The Manoir comfortably accommodates ten guests in five large bedrooms. There is a fully fitted kitchen with range cooker, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and a breakfast table. From the kitchen, a few stairs lead to the open plan dining and lounge area. There is a large oak table seating up to 16 guests with scope to extend to have a further 6 guests. The comfortable lounge area is a calm space for groups to rest and relax. The staircase leads to the first floor where there is a second sitting area with a second wood burning stove. There is a TV with Freesat TV and a DVD player and a large selection of films. Along the landing is a large double bedroom with a king-size bed and a seperate bathroom with a large shower, sink and WC. A further twin bedroom opens onto the small outside terrace with table and chairs overlooking the courtyard, giving far reaching views over fields and woodland.
The staircase then leads up onto the second floor where the second large double room with a French style double bed is found. There is another twin bedroom along the landing and a further twin bedroom which is in the pigeonnier tower overlooking fields. There is a second shower room with handbasin and WC. Traditional shutters are fitted to most windows.
Outside to the rear of the Manoir, a fenced private pool (9m x 5m) which is surrounded by grass and has the benefit of full sunshine. There are plenty of shrubs with mature trees creating a welcome shaded area for guests to relax.

Frayssinet-le-Gélat is located in the department of Lot and we are only 5 kilometres from the Dordogne. The Lot area is famous for its beautiful villages, traditional food markets, vineyards, caves and restaurants and is an excellent location to visit the famous towns of Cahors, Rocamadour and Sarlat, to name but a few! In addition, for those who enjoy outdoor activities there is so much to do locally including water and adventure parks, horse riding, canoeing, cycling, walking, fishing, as well as visiting historic caves, medieval towns, churches and castles.
The beautiful, quiet village of Frayssinet-le-Gélat is 1.5km from Malbernat and can be reached via a leisurely stroll through the woods. The local bar / restaurant serves delicious traditional foods. An artisan baker provides freshly baked breads/croissants and cakes and the village shop sells all the basics alongside many different cheeses, meats and wines from the area. A small lake (Plan D’Eau) is found on the way to the village which has an an alfresco bar serving homemade burgers, steaks, moules frites and omelettes, as well as crêpes and ice creams.
Cazals is the nearest market town (5.5kms) which has a lively outdoor market every Sunday morning throughout the year. There is a small supermarket for essentials as well as a tourist information office, baker, butcher, pharmacy and a bank. The larger town of Prayssac is 9 kms away and has two bigger supermarkets (both with petrol stations), a good variety of shops, banks and pharmacies. Throughout the year, there is an excellent outdoor local food market every Friday morning which is renowned for being the best in the area. Both towns have a great choice of cafés, restaurants and bars.
