Montpellier Capital of the region Languedoc Roussillon, some may say that Montpellier is most probably one of, if not the liveliest city in the south of France. There are local festivals regularly throughout the year with its two most important being the Festival of St Pierre and the Festival of St Louis which are held during the summer months.

Agde Built next to the Mont Saint Loup (an extinct volcano) and situated between the town of Béziers and Sete, this beautiful town is a great choice to spend time when taking an Herault self catering Villa. The town is only a 30 minute drive from the lively town of Montpellier. There are a number of shops in the area to keep the shoppers busy, together with a numerous bars and restaurants that come alive in the evenings and serve great local dishes. Be sure to pay a visit to the theatre, dance or music shows that happen regularly throughout the town.

The climate in the Hérault is very similar to the rest of northern Europe, and like the UK, it sees each of the four seasons. The summer months of June, July and August are often hot with plenty of sunshine and temperatures rising between an impressive 37° C and 40° C. The average daytime temperate is around 30° in the summer months and 10° C in the winter months of December and January. 

Getting to Hérault is very straight forward with two airports in the area. Although the smaller airport of Béziers receives most of its flights from Paris, RyanAir does fly to Béziers 3 times a week from Bristol. The main airport in Montpellier has regular flights to and from the UK with a number of cheap flights with RyanAir, GB Airways and British Airways available. There is also a fast TGV train service available that runs through Montpellier.
