Lurais is a commune in the Indre department in the Centre region of central France. Lurais is situated in the west of the department, just inside the boundary with the neighbouring Vienne department. Lurais is dominated by two major rivers – the Creuse and the Anglin. The surrounding area is stunning – Lurais is situated in the natural space of Boischaut-Nord, which is part of the Parc naturel régional de la Brenne. Nearby La Roche Posay is a popular spa town on the River Creuse.

It’s on the main line running between Paris Austerlitz and Bordeaux Saint Jean, it takes approximately 1 ½ hours journey time to Paris and there are two trains an hour. It’s a comfortable 5 hour drive from France’s northern ferry ports (Cherbourg, Calais etc). If you’re driving via Paris, the A20 motorway connects Lurais with Châteauroux, Vierzon, Brive-la-Gaillarde and Toulouse.
