Saint Tropez is situated in the Var department of the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region. The climate is Mediterranean and the city enjoys 12 hours of sunshine per day during summer. St Tropez’s summers are long and warm, with summer daytime temperatures regularly hitting 30°C. The spring and autumn are also warm.

Most visitors arriving by air use Marseille Provence International or Nice airport – both have scheduled and charter flights arriving from the UK. There is a private airstrip in St Tropez. The A8 motorway provides fast and safe access to St Tropez. Exit at Cannet des Maures and follow the D558 for about 40kms to the town. Trains reach as far as St Rafael – which is 38kms away from St Tropez.
