The food in Languedoc-Roussillon is fantastic and influenced by some really strong Mediterranean flavours. They are not afraid of adding large amounts of herbs, garlic and olive oil but don’t let this put you off before you have had the chance to try some of the magnificent dishes.

Some of the delights include barbecued lamb which is grazed with wild thyme and cooked over a vine wood fire and beef stew or rich game which is traditionally cooked for many hours.

Enjoy some tasty  seafood along the coast mixed with ingredients such as oranges, chestnuts, fresh vegetables and wild mushrooms that grow in abundance throughout the region. For wine lovers, the region’s reputation for producing fine wines is growing and some of the vineyards are worth exploring on your travels.
