We’ve just returned from a wonderful week in Brittany, staying at The Walnut Tree Gîte in Kersulan, and we couldn’t recommend it highly enough! Set in a delightful and peaceful rural location, the gîte is spacious, spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated, with everything you could possibly need for a relaxing stay. The house is very well equipped, with beautiful gardens, a choice of lovely terraces and a fantastic private pool area — perfect for enjoying the sunshine and unwinding. The owners are absolutely lovely and are always on hand should you have any questions or need anything during your stay, while also giving you complete privacy. The location is ideal for exploring the surrounding area, with fantastic opportunities for walking and cycling, as well as some amazing restaurants nearby. We’ve had a wonderful stay and would thoroughly recommend The Walnut Tree Gîte to anyone looking for a peaceful and comfortable base in Brittany. A return visit is definitely a must — and, in fact, we’ve already booked our stay for 2027! We can’t wait to return.

We love staying at Walnut Gite. The house, garden, pool, and most importantly our hosts, Tina and Graeme make it so welcoming and comfortable for us. The Gite is spotless, and equipped with everything you could need. An ideal base for exploring the region, with peaceful surroundings that make it easy to relax and unwind. We were very lucky to watch the solar eclipse while on holiday, it was lovely to meet the local residents of the village who made us feel very welcome (and shared their glasses!). We will be returning 😊

WOW. . . . what an amazing Gite this is. We couldn't have asked for more. We have been so comfortable here and Tina & Graeme have been the most caring and thoughtful hosts we have ever had. They spoilt us with the lovely cakes and wine, along with all the other little touches which has made us feel so very welcome.
We have loved exploring this part of the country and we really hope to return again one day soon.

Our first visit to Walnut Tree Gite .....we concur with all the previous reviews. The listing photos are 100 % accurate. Helpful friendly, yet discreet owners next door offer a welcoming aspect to our stay. The tranquility of the setting was a plus for us ...nothing but birdsong to be heard..wonderful. very nice to stay in such a dog friendly accommodation too It is a well appointed stylish yet traditional Gite with attractive mature gardens ad pool ......a pleasurable stay :) .

We had a wonderful stay in this beautiful holiday home. It is a lovely, comfortable house with everything you could possibly need. The welcome was incredibly warm, with a freshly baked cake and beautiful flowers from the garden waiting for us. The garden itself is a true oasis of peace and tranquility, and the swimming pool was a wonderful way to cool off on warm days.
Tina and Graeme go above and beyond to make sure their guests have a fantastic stay, and their warmth and hospitality really made our week special. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would happily recommend this wonderful place to anyone. We would love to come back!

From the moment we arrived at Walnut Tree Gite we knew we would have a wonderful holiday. The hosts Tina and Grae met us on arrival and showed us around this lovely gite. It has everything you need and very comfortable beds in each of the four bedrooms. The was amazing and the grandchildren loved it as well as us. It is a very peaceful place but has plenty of things to do not too far from the gite. We had a wonderful week making memories and will certainly return. Thanks to Tina and Grae for making our holiday a wonderful one.

We absolutely loved staying at Walnut Tree Gate, Brittany. The whole service from booking, to staying and then leaving was exceptional. The hosts, Graeme and Tina were/are truly fantastic, nothing was too much trouble and when we came to leave it was like saying goodbye to new family members. They have created a real gem of a property, they have thought of everything to make your stay as comfortable as possible. The accommodation is fabulous as are the gardens, games hangar and the pool. We wished we could have stayed longer and will definitely return if the occasion arises.

Stay at Walnut Tree June 13 to June 27, 2026. After a journey of 9.5 hours that was long for us, we arrived at the Walnut Tree, where we were greeted at the gate by Tina and Graeme. Truly with open arms; that is so heartwarming! While my husband was chatting with Graeme, Tina proudly showed me the Gite. The first thing that caught my eye upon entering was the homemade cake waiting for us, as well as the bouquet of flowers, fresh from the garden, the homemade jam, snacks, baguette, wine, and milk in the fridge. You wouldn't believe your eyes, would you? The Gite is truly fully furnished, which is also stated in the description, but I had taken that with a grain of salt because everyone says that. As befits a true Dutch person, I had dragged half my household belongings along again, and believe it or not, I did that entirely for nothing. A small example: washing powder and fabric softener, olive oil, herbs, sugar, salt, etc.... I could go on like this for a while; it is all there and too much to mention. The beautifully landscaped garden with lots of flowers and seating areas everywhere (4) in the back garden. It is also lovely to sit at the front of the house. When we returned from a visit to Rochefort-en-Terre, our washed and ironed bed linen was waiting for us clean upon arrival. Tina had also cleaned the Gite again and replaced the towels, and all this at temperatures of around 40 degrees! There was also a freshly baked cake and a fresh bunch of flowers in the kitchen again. Graeme went to the bakery on Sunday and brought back rolls for us as well. Never, absolutely never in all those years in France have we met two such sweet, dedicated, and helpful people as Tina and Graeme, who really do everything they can to give you an unforgettable holiday. Well, we can tell you: They succeeded!!
