Our first visit to Walnut Tree Gite .....we concur with all the previous reviews. The listing photos are 100 % accurate. Helpful friendly, yet discreet owners next door offer a welcoming aspect to our stay. The tranquility of the setting was a plus for us ...nothing but birdsong to be heard..wonderful. very nice to stay in such a dog friendly accommodation too It is a well appointed stylish yet traditional Gite with attractive mature gardens ad pool ......a pleasurable stay :) .

Stay at Walnut Tree June 13 to June 27, 2026. After a journey of 9.5 hours that was long for us, we arrived at the Walnut Tree, where we were greeted at the gate by Tina and Graeme. Truly with open arms; that is so heartwarming! While my husband was chatting with Graeme, Tina proudly showed me the Gite. The first thing that caught my eye upon entering was the homemade cake waiting for us, as well as the bouquet of flowers, fresh from the garden, the homemade jam, snacks, baguette, wine, and milk in the fridge. You wouldn't believe your eyes, would you? The Gite is truly fully furnished, which is also stated in the description, but I had taken that with a grain of salt because everyone says that. As befits a true Dutch person, I had dragged half my household belongings along again, and believe it or not, I did that entirely for nothing. A small example: washing powder and fabric softener, olive oil, herbs, sugar, salt, etc.... I could go on like this for a while; it is all there and too much to mention. The beautifully landscaped garden with lots of flowers and seating areas everywhere (4) in the back garden. It is also lovely to sit at the front of the house. When we returned from a visit to Rochefort-en-Terre, our washed and ironed bed linen was waiting for us clean upon arrival. Tina had also cleaned the Gite again and replaced the towels, and all this at temperatures of around 40 degrees! There was also a freshly baked cake and a fresh bunch of flowers in the kitchen again. Graeme went to the bakery on Sunday and brought back rolls for us as well. Never, absolutely never in all those years in France have we met two such sweet, dedicated, and helpful people as Tina and Graeme, who really do everything they can to give you an unforgettable holiday. Well, we can tell you: They succeeded!!

Loved our stay in a traditional Gite located the quietest of settings with secure mature garden .. Well appointed stylish , clean, and SO dog friendly with lots of dog walking opportunities. Warm friendly hosts, though next door, were discreet. The welcome pack was so generous! Everything you would need has been provided .
Pool, games and books would entertain all ages. Fab stay :)

Returning to Walnut Tree Gite after our first visit in 2022 felt like coming home — though we had to wait three years for availability, it was absolutely worth it. The accommodation is simply out of this world: a true home-from-home. My husband usually packs everything but the kitchen sink, but here, there’s no need — even the spice rack is stocked! Every detail is thoughtfully provided, making it effortless to settle in and enjoy.

The welcome pack was a delightful touch, especially the homemade chocolate cake — genuinely one of the best I’ve ever tasted. We stayed for two weeks, and Tina and Graeme kindly coordinated a mid-stay change of bedding and towels without disrupting our holiday, which we truly appreciated.

The gardens are a haven of tranquility, with countless peaceful spots to sit and unwind. My favourite ritual was enjoying a morning cup of tea in the front garden, serenaded by birdsong. The pool was a godsend in the summer heat — crystal clear and meticulously maintained every day.

The information pack was incredibly helpful, offering ideas for outings from short jaunts to full-day adventures. Tina and Graeme’s local knowledge was invaluable — they even helped us arrange a lovely afternoon boat trip from Vannes.

We feel so fortunate to have secured a booking for 2026 and are already counting down the days to another relaxing escape. Walnut Tree Gite is more than a holiday destination — it’s a sanctuary

What Can I say about Walnut Tree Gite that I haven't said on our previous three stays?! For us coming here is our second home and the best part: seeing our wonderful friends, Tina & Graeme. We have stayed in a number of Gites but WTG is always our favourite and the one we compare others to! You want for nothing here: Comfortable beds, fluffy towels, a pool, a stunning garden, BBQ. . . . the list is endless. We'll obviously be back!

We've all had a fantastic holiday at Walnut Tree Gite. We have visited Brittany many times over the years, but never stayed in it's 'heart'. The surrounding countryside is beautiful and we have enjoyed exploring the local area with a visit to Josselin and kayaking along the Blavet being particular highlights! The Gite is lovely and we have had a wonderful relaxing time in your beautiful garden and of course, we have all enjoyed the pool! Thank you for your wonderful hospitality.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Walnut Tree Gite. It was home from home. The kids loved the pool and the elder one's liked the ping pong table and darts. The castle at Josselin was really lovely, thanks for recommending it. I wish we could have stayed longer!
