 Anne Marie F - July 2016

We were 3 families that travelled from Norway and spent 1 week in Cassis from July 16th-July 23rd. The house we rented was great and the owners were really nice, very accommodating. The outside area had a nice big pool and the terraced area was very spacious, completely private from the neighbours, plenty of sunshine all day. There were 2 kitchens, 1 downstairs by the pool which we used tostore drinks/fruit and a large modern kitchen upstairs which we used to prepare meals and sit together.

The house was very spacious, in good condition and clean, very charming due to sections of it being built at different times, lots of foliage making it quite picturesque as well as providing shade from the sun. The house is large and one family can easily escape from the other if necessary. The main kitchen upstairs was great, well equipped with all the necessary utensils and tools. When we did not eat at one of the restaurants in Cassis we used the barbeque on the balcony and it worked well. The seating and dining areas were well setup, one big table for the adults and another big table for children. The view from the balcony upstairs is just wonderful, we enjoyed this every evening.

The sleeping arrangements were fine, good sized double beds, sheets were provided although no duvets provided...not needed anyway due to the warm weather. Blankets were there if we needed them but did not use them. Sleeping occasionally was difficult due to the hot nights, one of the rooms had air-conditioning, the rest were equipped with fans.

There are good running/walking/trekking trails nearby. We took early morning jogging trips in the national park which is 1 minute from the house. Do this early morning before it gets too hot.

The location is perfect, a lovely quiet area overlooking the sea, only 10 minutes walk into the port of Cassis (15-20 mins back up the hill!). We ventured into Cassis for lunch and dinner on a number of occasions, the walk was no problem even for the children...although stopping for an ice-cream along the way helped :). We took a boat trip to the Calanques, well worth a trip. We also visited the market, a thoroughly enjoyable experience, fantastic for food, a very nice atmosphere there. The atmosphere in Cassis is fabulous, so many good restaurants to choose from.

Overall a great stay, we all agreed that one week was definitely too short, it went by too quickly, next time it should be for two weeks. We highly recommend this house and location.
