Charming 3 Bedroom Gite with Salt Swimming Pool in La Romieu, Gers Reviews

We enjoyed our stay very much! It was all as described and great quality. The pool was amazing as was the location. Only 20 minute walk into La Romieu which has a great bakery and a few bars/cafes. The Camp de Florence has a fantastic restaurant with extremely friendly staff! We felt fully refreshed after our 10 day stay. Thank you Sophie x

Sophie's accommodation is a rural idyll and an animal paradise! We also had a lot of fun with Sophie who is a very social person. We got homemade cakes and other dishes from Sophie. We enjoyed ourselves very much!

Exceptional place for a stay under the Gers sun! Spacious enough for 6 people, tastefully decorated, we felt at home right away!
What can I say about Sophie! Exceptionally kind and friendly host, living right next door, we were able to discuss anything and everything with great pleasure!
We can only recommend this place that combines calm and friendliness, beautiful landscape, and impeccable house, the little extra being the presence of Sophie in the area with her various animals, who took great care of us!

We had a lovely time at Sophie's cottage. Sophie herself is a warm and friendly hostess, and made us feel very welcome. The well-equipped house is full of charm, and it stays delightfully cool on hot summer days; with its large pool, extensive garden, and beautiful views out over the countryside, it really is something special. Sophie herself was always available to offer suggestions for local restaurants and areas of interest (which include La Romieu itself, medieval walled towns, Roman ruins, and local markets). Animal lovers will particularly enjoy their stay, as Sophie's wonderful collection of birds, goats, chickens, ducks and geese is nearby. We had a delightful and relaxing holiday in this idyllic setting, and recommend it highly!

This is an animal lovers paradise! Sophie has all kinds of animals; 12 cats, 4 dogs, Baba the parrot, several birds, 4 donkeys, 2 ponies, ducks, chickens and fish.
The pool was the highlight of the trip, giant and clean. We had lots of fun jumping in or cooling off when it got hot.
The cottage is decorated with so many nice pictures and paintings, far more detail than we've seen with any other trip. It was also thankfully lovely and cool inside so sleeping wasn't an issue at all. The posh mattress in the master bedroom also helped. Wifi reception was excellent with around 15Mbps download speeds.
The local area is fantastic, loads to see and do and local markets to visit. The village is just walkable for your morning bread, though I preferred the bakery in Lecture which was spectacular.
Sophie was on hand for local recommendations on places to visit, restaurants to eat at or just for a chat. We had a super time on our Summer holiday and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.
