Delightful family-friendly traditional C18th stone cottage typical of the Gers boasting stunning open views and a very large pool. The property is set in stunning garden near world famous picturesque village and Collegiate of La Romieu (restaurants, shops).
The cottage and studio flat (Green room) are charming and beautifully decorated and furnished with high quality bed linen, crockery and cutlery.
Both with fully functional kitchens, washing machines, BBQ for your comfort. There is wifi and smart TVs programable for netflix etc.
The Accommodation:
This delightful stone Gersois cottage with additional garden flat, is approx 100 m2.
All on one level, so also suitable for disabled /older guests.
The cottage has an open plan airy living room, fully equipped kitchen with comfortably appointed dining area. Smart TV built into designer cabinet with your own programmability for Netflix etc.
The studio flat (The Green Room) is a separate annex attached to one end of the cottage with its own entrance and overlooking the pool and largest terrace. It is exquisitely decorated and fully furnished to a very high standard with open plan fully equipped kitchen and smart tv, double bed, and pretty bathroom. This extra 'flat' is perfect for grandparents or extra visitors who would like a little privacy at times, and even be independent, whilst at the same time be part of the family aswell as it overlooks the main terrace and pool. It also means that the kitchen is just by the pool and the windows can be fully opened, turning it into a luxurious open party room with all facilities such as oven, fridge and dishwasher, and toilet.
Due to its traditional construction, the entire cottage is wonderfully cool in the hot Summer months, and equally warm and cosy during the Winter season.
Woodburning stove in large fireplace in living area with comfortable and cosy seating areas, sofa and armchairs.
All bedlinen is of very high quality, as are the mattresses which are top quality and extremely comfortable. Towels of equal quality.
Bedrooms are beautifully decorated, wardrobes, chest of drawers and seating.
Top of the range washing machines, Induction stoves, coffe machines (Nescafe Dolce Gusto), toaster, microwaves, seperate freezer, + dishwasher in Green Room. etc.
Three exterior dining areas, one on the northside of the cottage, one on the southside and one right next to the swimming pool with its own sunshade and Weber charcoal BBQ. Lots of comfortable garden furniture with recliners.
Huge private salt water swimming pool (14m x 7m) with soft liner and large steps suitable for paddeling. Large terrace spaces all around with pool with loungers and seating areas. The Pool is overlooked by a main larger terrace with pagoda and largest eating area.
All surrounded of course by the stunning views over the famous Gers countryside.
Set in beautifully kept grounds, surrounded by fields (where the pet ponies and donkeys and miniature goats are kept) and woods and valleys beyond.
Basically, its a hidden Paradise for guests!
Guest access
You will have access to all the spaces around the guesthouse and of course the swimming pool.
You are welcome to wander around the rest of the grounds bearing in mind that there are caged areas which are protecting birds and these are not open for access by the public. That means free range eggs are always available for you.
Other things to note
To be noted that the resident little dogs are kept well away from the cottage and gardens, by a fence, so the grounds are hygienic and safe.
If you are prone to any bird or animal allergies then sadly this is not the place for you, as I have ponies, dogs, cats, birds and wildfowl. The animals are confined within their own enclosures on the perimeters of the property.
The small dogs are also kept behind gates away from the cottage, and keeping the grounds around the cottage clean and hygienic.
I would be delighted however to show your children around so that they can enjoy the animals, and even help collect the eggs if the hens are laying.

Local Attractions
We are situated about 2km away from one of the great touristic sites of the North of the Gers, La Romieu. Its name Romieu means pilgrim, because it was founded in 1062 by 2 benediction monks on their return home from Rome. It is one of the essential stages on the Routes of Saint-Jacques-de-Compostelle. Its remarkable collegiate church is also classified as a “ World Heritage Site ” by UNESCO and is well worth visiting. It is also a medieval bastide with typical architecture of the Gers.
And of course there is the famous legend of Angeline of the cats in La Romieu!
The village is lucky to have 3 great restaurants/brasseries...all are equally good and different. All are children friendly and safe aswell. There is a grocery shop and newspaper shop, boulangerie, also a postoffice with cashpoint facility, various shops and antique shop.
Also next to the village are the famous gardens of Coursiana, a 6 hectare Arboretum created in 1976 by the eminent french botanist Gilbert Cours-Darne. Also worth visiting.
We are right in the middle of the countryside here, so you will need a car or at the very least a bike or motorbike… You are very welcome to charge your electric bike at my property. Electric bikes can be easily hired in near by towns as well. If you come in an electric car I’m afraid I do not have an electric car charging point, however, in common with most French villages, there is one in the centre of our local village, of la Romieu.
