Les Cireys

We have just returned from a fantastic couple of weeks in this charming gite in a most beautiful part of France. The gite was well-equiped, quirkily furnished, and had the advantage of a main room that was both light (for reading and beading) and aslo cool in the heat of (sometimes very hot) July days.It had been furnished to present a unique experience with a range of interstgin bric-a-brac - we spent a happy hour completing the jigsaw of the Departements of France!

The gite is a short walk from the village with a boulangerie, bar and shop (though that was closed and not scheduled ot re-open until August 2010). Further afield there are supermarkets in Le Bugue and Lalinde, and the local markets sell excellent fruit, vegetables, fish, cheese and everything else one might want to eat.

We are both keen walkers and this is ideal walking country - for several days we left the car at the gite as there were varied and intersting walks - for example to Limeuil, and to view the Cingle de Tremolat - on our doorstep. Further afield highlights included a trips to Sarlat, La Roque-Gageac, Beynac et Cazenac, Les Eyzies and Bergerac; visits to Bastide towns such as Montpazier, Beaumont-en-Perigord and Belves; and a wonderful afternoon at the Paper Mill Museum at Port Couze.

A delightful place with extremely friendly, helpful but unobtrusive owners on site, and definitely to be recommended if you are seeking a relaxing break in this lovely part of the world.

Idyllic Living in Tremolat

This is a great, spacious property in a great location. You can enjoy the true gite experience in a really stylish environment. Great care and attention has been paid to the `styling` and `accessorising` of the property, and this contributes significantly to the overall enjoyment.

The property is well-placed to enjoy all of the Dordogne delights: the river itself, the villages, the activities (eg canoe-ing) and of, course, the food - whether it be self-cooked or enjoyed in a restaurant or ferme auberge. The property is also within easy striking distance of bigger town/city attractions like Bergerac/Perigueux as well as the well-known pre-history sites.

The owners are friendly, helpful people who come across as genuinely interested in helping you get the most out of your time. And, they strike that welcome balance of being available if required without being in any way intrusive. This point is worth emphasising as, when selecting a holiday property, one can be a little bit unsure about the prospective experience when it is known the owners are living above you. Worry not in this case!

This is a brilliant choice for a stylish Dordogne holiday.

Our holiday in Tremolat
What a beautiful location, very well presented house full of character & charm. We thoroughly enjoyed our relaxing stay at this property & visited many of the towns and villages in this area of the Dordogne. Canoeing the river was great. The owners were very helpful & accommodating & could give good advice on where to go & what to see. We would recommend this property & location to anyone that wants to relax or have a romantic break.

Our visit to Tremolat

We would highly recommend this property to anyone who wants to stay in the most beautiful rural village of Tremolat. You can walk to the village, the boulangerie has cakes to die for.

The hosts will make you very comfortable and are two of the nicest people we have ever met.

The surrounding villages are delightful, so many attractions you could spend a month here.

We hope you enjoy staying here as much as we did and we can't wait to go back again.
