5 Beautiful Cottages with Spa in Tamerville, Normandy - La Clef Decamp

La Clef Decamp comprises 5 independent cottages which are a perfect base camp to discover the Cotentin, Cherbourg, the Hague, the landing beaches, the Channel and the rest of Normandy. 

Located 2 min Valognes, 15 min from Ste Mère church, St Vaast la Hougue, Barfleur la Hague. 

La Grande Duckerie :

Comprises 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms for 10 to 13 people.

The Grande Duckerie is most often used as a convivial dining room where it is good to dine in front of the fire (possibility of grilling a rib of beef in the fireplace). The little Duckerie with its big cozy white sofa serves as a living room with its library, large flat screen TV and piano. The central island is often used to prepare an aperitif.

You can eat together in the Grande Duckerie, possibility also to eat children for example in La Petite Duckerie on the island that has extensions.

La Petite Duckerie :

This is a gite adjoining La Grande Duckerie with 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom for 2 to 4 people.

La DuckFly :

Comprises 8 bedrooms and  7 bathrooms for 15 people (or 30 people with Grande and Petite Duckerie)

La Boulangerie :

This comprises 1 bedroom and 1 bathroom for 2 to 10 people.

La Voisine :

This gite has 7 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms for 15 people (or 25 people with the cottage La Boulangerie)

For security purposes, the maximum number of guests per gite is 15 persons. 

La Clef Decamp provides a peaceful and relaxing haven, situated just 2 minutes from Valognes, Versailles Normandy and its' mansions is located just 15 minutes from the landing beaches, Sainte-Mère Eglise, the port of St Vaast la Hougue and Barfleur and even the Hague is close. 

Each of the gites has a private entrance with a terrace and well maintained flower garden. There is also a separate car park available. It must be emphasised that the cottages can be rented together or individualy, entirely dependent on the needs and requirements of the group. They are totally separate from each other and you won't be disturbed by anyone else staying at one of the gites. 

The relaxation area is open 7 days a week and 24 hours a day. This room is shared with other guests staying at La Clef Decamp, however it is possible to book private slots if you wish. 

The SPA (Jacuzzi high-end 6 people) is covered by a pretty glass roof where it is very pleasant to bathe, protected from the rain overlooking the garden and the terrace.

There is a walk-in shower, relaxation benches, a massage chair, a stereo, soothing light and an infrared Sauna for for 4 people.

In total, there are 21 bedrooms, 15 bathrooms and 13 toilets in the 5 gites of La Clef Decamp.

The Grande and Petite Duckerie can communicate with each other via an interior door to make one big house which is very practical (meaning guests will have use of 2 kitchens, 2 dishwashers, 2 refrigerators - one very large with ice cubes, 3 ovens, 2 microwaves, etc). There will be two relaxation areas with club chairs.

A very famous chef specializing in roasting can come to cook in the courtyard to prepare you a meal, a typical meal of the area which is absolutely delicious and reasonable in price. It is also possible to serve you at the table or have breakfast delivered in the morning etc.

If you are a large group it is advisable to book Duckfly and La Boulangerie or La Voisine and La Boulangerie. You can enjoy 8/9 bedrooms and 4/7 bathrooms.

You will also have the reception room (70m2) of the Duckfly with a large table to accommodate up to 50 people.The reception room features include tiled flooring imitation parquet, cement tiles, beam ceilings aswell as a neat and warm decor. You can enjoy dinner in front of the garden (large bay window style workshop) and facing the monumental fireplace. There is Sono, a home theater and light games to party and dance after the meal.

For groups larger than 40 people: the entire property will have to be rented, i.e the 5 gîtes for a total of 22 rooms and 15 bathrooms.

The property is 1 hour from Caen and 3:30 from Paris.It is very well placed because it's close to major and central roads.

Tamerville is 15 minutes from the sea and the beautiful landing beaches. 15 minutes from St Vaast la Hougue (Tatihou island, Vauban towers: Unesco world heritage, Gosselin delicatessen), 20 minutes from the port of Barfleur (elected 3rd most beautiful village in France), enjoy yachting at Quinéville.

You will find many shops in Valognes, as well as the market on Friday morning. You can organize trips to the area including: the regional cider museum and the Museum of Eau de Vie and Old Trades, the Cinema, the Animal Park in Montaigu la Brisette, the Cherbourg Sea City, the Cotentin peninsula golf, tree climbing Forest Adventure, La Maison des Marais, Stables de la Gare for a horseback ride, etc.

To do within 20 min: Kayak in the bay of Cherbourg, visit the City of the sea or to visit the 2nd highest lighthouse of Europe in Gatteville-le-Phare. Local market, flea market, hike in the Hague, there are three coasts to visit. The cottages are located in a very quiet road 2 minutes by car and 20 minutes walk from Valognes where there are 4 supermarkets. This city is old and very beautiful.
