PETITE LORTAL – CHARMING HOLIDAY COTTAGE FOR TWO IN THE DORDOGNE

Lortal is a beautiful old farmhouse situated in the peaceful hamlet of Doissat, approximately eight kilometres from the medieval town of Belvès in the Dordogne. The historic towns of Sarlat and Bergerac, together with the famous Lascaux caves, are all within easy reach. For Dutch owners Renée and André van Soest, this lovely corner of the Périgord is home.

Tucked away in a quiet, shaded part of the grounds is Petite Lortal, a recently renovated, fully detached holiday cottage designed for two adults. Offering privacy, comfort and a tranquil countryside setting, it provides an excellent base for discovering the many attractions of the Périgord.

Whether you enjoy exploring picturesque villages, sampling regional cuisine, visiting vineyards or discovering the countryside on foot, by bicycle, on horseback or by canoe, Petite Lortal is ideally situated. Fishing enthusiasts and golfers will also find plenty of opportunities nearby.

COMFORTABLE ACCOMMODATION & PRIVATE GARDEN

Despite its compact size, Petite Lortal offers everything needed for a relaxing self-catering holiday. The cottage features a modern, well-equipped kitchen, a comfortable living room, a contemporary bathroom and a bedroom with a spacious double bed.

Outside, guests can enjoy their own private garden, a peaceful place to unwind after a day exploring the Dordogne. Please note that the garden slopes slightly and may therefore be less suitable for guests with reduced mobility.

Electric heating is provided for cooler days during spring and autumn, making the cottage a welcoming retreat beyond the summer months.

PERSONAL HOSPITALITY & SWIMMING POOL

Renée and André live discreetly on the main property and are happy to share their local knowledge, recommend places to visit and offer assistance whenever needed.

As Petite Lortal is the only holiday cottage on the property, guests can enjoy a particularly personal and welcoming experience while maintaining their privacy.

The owners' adjacent swimming pool is available for shared use from mid-May until the end of September. Guests are welcome to enjoy the pool, although sunbathing and outdoor relaxation should take place in Petite Lortal's private garden.

Nearby Belvès is officially recognised as one of France's most beautiful villages, while Sarlat offers atmospheric medieval streets, bustling markets and excellent restaurants. Bergerac is equally appealing, particularly for visitors interested in the region's celebrated wines.

The famous Lascaux caves, impressive castles and picturesque villages along the Dordogne Valley provide countless opportunities for memorable days out.

GETTING TO PETITE LORTAL

A car is strongly recommended for exploring the surrounding countryside and visiting the region's attractions.

Bergerac Airport offers a convenient arrival point, with car hire available at the airport. Depending on the season and airline schedules, flights from Rotterdam and other European airports may be available.

RENTAL PRICES & BOOKING CONDITIONS

Included in the Rental Price:

• Welcome package, including a bottle of wine.

• Bed linen, bath towels and kitchen linen for the number of guests booked.

• Beds made up before arrival.

• Water and electricity consumption.

Additional Charges:

• Final cleaning and laundry: €50 per stay. Guests are expected to leave the cottage in a reasonably clean condition.

• Security deposit: €250, covering possible damage or additional cleaning costs.

BOOKING & PAYMENT TERMS
Following confirmation of your reservation by email, a deposit of 25% of the total rental price must be paid within one week.

The remaining balance is payable no later than two months before the beginning of your stay.

Guests are advised to arrange appropriate travel and cancellation insurance.

CANCELLATION POLICY
The initial 25% deposit is non-refundable in the event of cancellation.

For cancellations made within two months of the scheduled arrival date, the full rental amount remains payable and no refund will be provided.

Any booking or reservation fees already charged are also non-refundable.

SWIMMING POOL CONDITIONS
The swimming pool is open from approximately mid-May until the end of September and is shared with the owners.

Guests use the pool at their own risk. For sunbathing and outdoor seating, guests are requested to use the private garden belonging to Petite Lortal.

ADDITIONAL HOUSE RULES

• Electric vehicles must not be charged using the cottage's electricity supply.

• Guests are expected to maintain the property in a reasonably clean and tidy condition.

ARRIVAL & DEPARTURE
Check-in: From 5:00 pm (17:00).

Check-out: Before 9:30 am (09:30), allowing sufficient time for cleaning and preparation before the next guests arrive.
