Local Attractions

RIBERAC - The town is a short walk. There are restaurants, cafés and shops. There are also tennis courts, a cinema which often shows English-language films and a locally renowned Friday market, where you can view and buy antiques, soaps, jewellery, delicious local produce, pottery, linen and vintage clothing. A smaller farmers' market is on Tuesday mornings. The town has pharmacies, bakeries, banks, supermarkets and, if you are thinking of buying a house in the region, there are several estate agents we can introduce you to.

A few minutes drive takes you to Canoes Ribérac, where you can hire a kayak or canoe by the day or for a few hours and explore the River Dronne. Take a picnic lunch and look out for the fish and otters.

The are also many musical events during the summer, ranging from classical Baroque to blues, jazz, folk and rock and roll.

If you enjoy walking and old buildings, a superb group of Romanesque churches is on your doorstep. Should you enjoy painting or photography the Dordogne has attracted countless artists, professional and less so and one could do no better for a subject than the very attractive view of Ribérac and its churches and old buildings.
