A modern cottage for couples, nestled in a loop of the River Lot and overlooking fields in the heart of Cahors wine country. With flexible stays, this is an ideal base for sports and adventure in the Lot Valley.

This property is just a 10-minute walk from Prayssac, a large town with many amenities that sits along the Lot Valley between Cahors and Villeneuve-sur-Lot. Prayssac boasts one of the best outdoor markets in the area, and every Friday morning its centre becomes a colourful bustling scene with a great variety of foods, drink and other goods on offer.

This large private house is well placed for enjoying outdoor activities in the French countryside. With the riverbank just 500 meters from both the east and the west of the house, and Montcuq Lake & Beach, and the Catus water park nearby, there is no shortage of opportunities for water-based activities.

With flexible changeover days, and just a 5 night minimum stay, it’s ideal to explore the Lot Valley’s scenic trails, limestone cliffs, and historic sites.

The Owners live in the adjacent house, and have renovated this former barn as a comfortable private house, with open-plan lounge, kitchen, and even a dedicated working space. It has multiple outdoor areas to enjoy the expansive countryside views.

Accommodation

The ground floor is an open plan living area. The kitchen features a gas/electric hob and fan oven, a microwave and an under-counter fridge/freezer. There are appliances such as coffee makers, kettle and toaster, along with a variety of crockery and even baking equipment.

The living area features a sofa and armchair, a dining table seating 4, and a TV with terrestrial and satellite reception. There are glazed doors out onto the large covered ‘au vent’ terrace overlooking the Owner’s field.

There is good speed fibre internet as well as a Philips sound system with auxiliary input. There are ceiling fans, portable fans, and a hair dryer is also available.

A wide staircase leads up to the double bedroom with dual aspect windows offering views over fields and also to the town beyond. A large shower room with basin and WC is adjacent.

There is a working space on the mezzanine that has a desk as well as comfortable seating and a good selection of books. It allows Guests a peaceful space away from the downstairs sitting room.

Outside
There are two outdoor terraces – one beside the main door in the open sunlight. The other is a very private covered ‘au vent’ terrace beside the sitting room which looks out over the fields and faces west, making it ideal to enjoy the spectacular sunsets over the hills.

Both outdoor terraces tables and chairs, and there are also sun loungers. A charcoal barbecue is provided. 

Planted in the field in full view of both outdoor areas, a small wildflower meadow gives a pleasant splash of colour, and there is also an assortment of shrubs and trees. Guests have full access to the large garden.

Ample parking space is available in the Owner’s large gated and gravelled driveway.

Complimentary linen changes are provided for stays of two weeks or more.

There is no washing machine on site however there are washing machines and dryers at the local supermarket or in the nearby village.

In May, June and September there is a 15€ allowance for utilities above which is chargeable.
