Beautiful villa in amazing surroundings.

What a wonderful short holiday! Villa and area around made it so simple and easy to relax. A real highlight is the view. Great collection of small towns in close proximity with great cafes and markets. I have to come back!

Wow, wow, wow - didn't want to leave

A last minute find and we were not disappointed. Le Clapier is quiet, peaceful, beautiful and a home from home. Well equipped, tastefully decorated and very comfortable for the family. The village is idyllic, the views captivating and the pool warm and refreshing. The area is enchanting and so relaxing. A real find and one of the best places we've rented over the years. Enough to do and keep our 15 and 10 year old quietly content. Plenty of good day trips to occupying the family. A real taste of France. The owner Joanna is a joy to deal with, very efficient and really attentive to detail. If you like relaxing, France, good food and a real village feel, you will not regret booking le Clapier.

Luxury Villa in an Amazing Setting

5 of 5

The property was fantastic and was located in a beautiful part of South West France. Le Clapier was a spacious property that accommodated 2 adults and 3 teenage children with ease. All facilities were first class in quality, the property was clean and airy on arrival and you never get bored of the view from the terrace. The garden was excellent with a first class pool - the best we have had at a holiday villa.

The surrounding area is beautiful with plenty to do for everyone. The local town, although small, has lots going on all through the summer. The Pyrenees, although a distance, is nevertheless an easy drive and we made it there and back in a day.

This is a superb place for a relaxing holiday and would come highly recommended.

Great Beds !
My family and I enjoyed a fabulous week at le clapier. The house is spacious and well equipped in a quiet location with easy access to places of interest. It’s got great beds! We particularly enjoyed the large pool which is well equipped with sunloungers, parasols and bbq. There is a good restaurant a short walk away. The house also has stunning views

Wonderful House
Thank you for our wonderful stay. We were a large party of friends looking for somewhere scenic to spend a week together. We were excited when we booked but over the moon when we arrived to the beautiful house. The space works really well for a large group of people with multiple areas to comfortably sit and hang out. We had some delicious dinners and breakfasts (cooked in the well equipped kitchen and BBQ) out on the deck and the view made them even more magical. Even though the house is wonderful to relax and play in the pool in we found some lovely things to do in the surrounding area. There's a wonderful restaurant right by the house and kayaking and wake-boarding about an hour drive and some nice villages not far. Overall if you want a place that feels private and scenic and is still functional and comfortable then this an ideal place. We hope to come back soon!

Beautiful Villa, Fabulous Pool!
We loved our stay in Le Clapier. The villa is big, beautiful and cool (the weather was HOT!) and extremely well equipped. The beds, in particular, are super-comfy and we really appreciated the extra touches, like piles of big lizard-patterned pool towels (in addition to soft white bath towels for everyone), gorgeous soaps in the bathrooms and a huge range of kitchen equipment (including sharp knives - hurrah! - and a coffee machine). The pool is a good size (long enough to swim 'proper' lengths, if that's your bag) and it was lovely to take a dip in soft, salt water, rather than the usual strong-smelling chlorine. Our teens loved the ping-pong table (and we loved that it was in the courtyard, out of earshot!), the massive bean bag, the great wifi connection and (face of shame) the BBC channels on the TV. The village restaurant (literally 15 paces away) is great - really friendly, nice food - and there a lots of other good places to eat in the towns nearby (once you've worked out which ones are closed on which days - every one is different!). Thoroughly recommend this villa - we honestly can't think of a single thing it's missing - and the truly beautiful French landscape all around it.

Beautiful House And Pool In An Ideal Location
We have just spent a fortnight at Le Clapier and couldn't have asked for a more relaxing time in beautiful surroundings. The house combines its traditional roots with a large, modern open-plan living and kitchen area - huge windows bring in plenty of light and show off the far-reaching views towards Lauzerte and the east (Miramont de Quercy is perched high above the surrounding countryside). The bedrooms are all large with comfortable firm beds; a travel cot (and highchair) was provided for our youngest. Five of us shared the house (two adults and three children) with bags of room to spare - easily enough for the full complement of eight. The two bathrooms (one en suite) both have large walk-in showers with monsoon heads and plenty of hot water. Outside, a large decking area caught the morning rays and provided a great space to relax in the afternoons (despite reaching around 34 degrees, a gentle breeze meant that the heat never became oppressive). The pool is a real feature of the house – large, heated, and a child-magnet. The kitchen had every appliance, utensil and piece of cutlery you could need, and the TV (UK stations) kept the kids occupied when a break from the sun was needed. Plentiful WiFi flowed throughout – mostly consumed by children sunk into the massive orange beanbag. The region has plenty of attractive towns within driving distance, and we never seemed to be far from a market or event (the evening food market at Lauzerte and day market at Moncuq were highlights). All the local towns seemed to have large squares, great for a coffee or ice cream, or just letting the kids run-off their cheese and ham crepes (Pujols is definitely worth a visit). Bonaguil castle gives a real sense of the Bastide history of the region and its historically precarious position between the French strongholds of Toulouse and the English fortresses of the Dordogne (where we spent a great day canoeing from La Roque Gageac, and then escaped to the relative tranquillity of the Midi Pyrenees). The owner, Jo, was very responsive to our questions pre-visit, and Rosetta and Steve were on-hand to provide help and information during the stay. Given Le Clapier’s proximity to the village restaurant we had some concerns that we would pick-up some of its noise. However, this was totally unfounded since the two are effectively “back-to-back” and, in fact, having such a chilled restaurant serving great food (and wine) within walking distance was a godsend.

Luxury With Wonderful Views
We (a family of four) stayed at the villa for a week in July 2017. The rooms, facilities, equipment and décor are to a very high standard. A nice touch is the welcome pack of bread, cheese, wine etc. when you arrive and there is a helpful housekeeper who introduces herself, but leaves you to it unless you need her help. The pool is wonderful and the grounds are not overlooked and the quiet hill-top location affords peace and quiet and beautiful views across the countryside. Ironically, one of the best restaurants that we went to is the one in the village itself where the food was good and the owners very friendly (we ate there twice). There are local shops and a supermarket within ten minutes’ drive and we made use of both the excellent oven and BBQ in the villa. Away from the village the beautiful medieval hill-top town of Lauzerte is ten minutes away and the main town of Cahors with its bridge, market, restaurants and vineyards and Moissac with its fine Abbey are no more than an hour. This means that the villa is ideally placed for making day-, or half-day, excursions in different directions before returning ‘home’ for a family meal around the BBQ or in the restaurant. There is a large TV with UK television channels, good wi-fi and high internet speed (if you are not satisfied with wonderful views, a nice swim or good food, that is). The arrangements for booking the villa, getting there and leaving were very smooth. Another nice touch is the information pack describing the villa, the village and places to visit, eat etc

Amazing Property In A Stunning Location
We spent a fantastic week last month in this property and have already booked a return visit next summer. The house is spacious and very well appointed, situated in a quiet hamlet on the top of a ridge - the views from the terrace and pool are fantastic. It is easy to access from the nearest airports with an extremely well-stocked supermarket only a short drive away. The house is finished to the highest standard with the best stocked kitchen we have ever rented. Towels are fluffy, beds are SO comfortable and everything is immaculate. The area is very authentic with medieval hill towns to explore, nearby markets to sample and great walks from the house itself (a comprehensive file gives all the information you will need). We just loved our stay and can't wait to be back there next year.
