Fantastic traditional french property with a great pool and a large garden.
We recently had a fantastic two week holiday at Lortal and Petite Lortal with our with our extended family. Brilliant house in a beautiful setting, with a great swimming pool which can be used by the whole family. Perfect location and a short drive to the nearby picturesque town of Belves. Lots to see and do in the area, with numerous chateaux and gardens all within a short drive. The property is extremely well equipped with everything you could need. Would highly recommend this property for a family holiday, we all look forward to returning soon!

Peace, Tranquility and Calm - the perfect holiday destination
Traditional Perigord farmhouse in the heart of the Dordogne, close to all the main attractions. With everything you need, the location is an oasis of tranquility. The house is fully equipped and has air-conditioning, which was a welcome addition during August making sleeping comfortable. The landscaped grounds are fabulous, with swimming pool, children’s play equipment and plenty of furniture and sun loungers to relax both in and out of the sun. It’s the perfect entertaining space, with two covered terraces and large dining tables. We loved the opportunity to relax with a large family group (good WiFi to keep the kids connected), using it as a base to explore all the wonderful local towns and villages (Belves, Sarlat, Monpazier, Chateau des Milandes, canoeing at Castelnaud, Beynac, La Roque-Gageac, Domme and many more). Don’t forget Airparc Perigord - a full days entertainment and the kids loved it. If you’re a wine lover, all the wines of Cahors are close by. And if you’re a radio ham, a great open space for your portable HF antennas!!!
We loved Lortal and hope one day to return - all you need for the perfect family holiday.

This was our second visit to Lortal.
Lortal (and La Petite Lortal) could not be more perfect for a family holiday. There were 10 of us (6 adults and 4 young children who were all under 10 yrs old). The main house accommodated the two young families perfectly (with most of the rooms air conditioned) and the grandparents had their own oasis over in La Petite Lortal ! The garden and swimming pool are fabulous. The children absolutely loved the pool, spending hours in and around it each day. There is also a climbing frame with swings and a wendy house... all very popular! We also loved the terrace. This is very spacious and shaded, we ate all our meals out there (very large dining table) and relaxed there during the day and in the evening.
The local area is beautiful. Belves, the closest market town, is delightful and there are numerous possibilities for day visits to chateaux, beautiful towns and many activities for children within a very easy driving distance.
We could not recommend Lortal more highly and are hoping to make a third visit in the future!

We visited the lovely Lortal as a family of 5 (kids aged 15, 12 and 9) together with two grandparents. The main house provided plenty of space for all. However the grandparents did appreciate their own little space across the yard. The house is cooled by AC units which provided relief on hot nights.
The garden is a beautiful and peaceful place to spend time at the pool with a book, having a drink or take a nap. If you’re quiet enough you’ll encounter the local deer who come visit frequently.
We spent most of our days enjoying the local markets, chateaux and villages. If the kids are into adventure there are lots of options for water sports, tree trekking and hiking/biking. Driving in this area is not for the faint of heart however.
The house provides a lot of information about the region including day trips, restaurants, grocery stores, markets etc.
