Stunning Dordogne Holiday House in La Roque Gageac, France - La Malartrie Reviews

It would be hard not to like LaRoque-Gageac and were sure we had the very best house in the entire village! La Malartrie is indeed a lovely house with stunning views and we spent an inordinate amount of our time sitting on the covered terrace taking in the beauty of the Dordogne. From our vantage point above the Dordogne we watched canoes, gabares, ducks, river otter and even a deer in the river.

Excellent information about the house and nearby sights and activities was provided by the owner prior to our arrival--and everything was exactly as described, if not better. The house was roomy, comfortable, clean, and well lit. There were books to read and a television to watch--but we never had the time for either.

The very personable owners, David and Lorna Fulton, stopped in once or twice and were happy to answer questions, suggest places to visit, etc . We did telephone concerning a noisy plumbing problem in one of the bathrooms and it was promptly attended to. The spacious, well-equipped kitchen drew nothing but compliments from our group of six women--and that's not been the case in some of our prior rentals.

The feeling was unanimous: all six of us would unhesitatingly recommend La Malartrie to someone visiting anywhere near the Dordogne area.
