Stunning Dordogne Holiday House in La Roque Gageac, France - La Malartrie Reviews

No 1 La Malartrie sits on the side of the cliff a five minute walk from the village of La Roque Gageac. Having arrived by car after a long drive, the climb up the track from the allocated parking space with the family's luggage, who had packed enough for a three month visit, despite the fact we were staying for 10 days, was a little daunting. Once installed however, we marvelled at the views over the river and the village. The weather was such that we spent most of our time, when at the house, out on the terrace. Canoeing, swimming in the river, medieval villages, castles, caves, walking, fantastic weather, good food, good wine and a lovely house to stay in, all added up to make it a fantastic holiday. David was staying nearby and very kindly came to check that we had everything we needed for our stay, offering assistance and information on the area, if required. We will return one day.
