Dordogne Country Cottage with Private Recreational Lake, Saint-Priest-les-Fougeres Reviews

We are recently back from our 5th 2-week holiday at Maison Jaune in as many years and once again are full of superlatives. The friendly village setting; the charming, welcoming hosts; the spotless, well equipped gite; the lovely, tranquil lake - all the ingredients we need for a perfect, relaxing holiday. Of all these benefits, for us, Victor and Gaynor and their freshwater lake are the magic ingredients that keep drawing us back to this pretty area.

Venturing away from the gite we always enjoy trips to nearby St Yriex, Brantome and, slightly further afield, to Perigueux - all worth a visit, espeically on market days.

There is so much to do in the area that each year we discover something new, this year we hired canoes at Corgnac sur L'Isle (a 20 min drive from the gite) and spent a peaceful afternoon canoeing down the river, a lovely way to see the countryside and wildlife - we saw ducks, herons, kingfishers and red squirrels.

We eagerly await our next trip and can not recommend it highly enough.
