Dordogne Country Cottage with Private Recreational Lake, Saint-Priest-les-Fougeres, France

La Maison Jaune is a charming self catering Holiday Cottage located in a secluded, elevated position overlooking the beautiful Perigord Vert countryside of the Regional Natural Park of the Perigord Limousin. The perfect location for a lovely family holiday.A tranquil and rural setting with a child friendly garden area. Your dog/dogs is/are very welcome as well. Some 20 acres of land with uniquely our own private recreational lake; fresh water swimming, pollution and chemical free. Enjoy a spot of fishing? The lake is well stocked with carp, perch, roach and tench. Have fun in the rowing boat and there's a windsurfer and boards on which to practice your skills. The lake nestles in a sheltered, very private location, just a short stroll from the cottage across our land.A 'get away' from it all location in which to relax and unwind. Also if planning to come and live in France an ideal location to be based. Just 2.5kms from the main route RN21 at La Coquille. Walk to the village bakery and general store. Fresh baguettes and croissants every morning. And visit our local bar which will be open for the summer season of 2017.

The accommodation is on ground floor level and comprises:- Traditional French style kitchen for cooking /eating and convivial conversation. Fully equipped with dish washer, under-counter fridge (additional fridge space and freezer in garage), gas cooker, microwave, extractor fan and concealed lighting above work surface. A dining table with seating for 8 people, and easy chairs. Original stone fireplace, oak beams, farm -house doors, picture lights, ceiling fan and a log fire. Tiled floor. For practicality and comfort we adapt the furniture arrangements to suite the number of guests staying and also take into account the time of year. In the early Spring and during the Autumn, when the days are cooler and the wood burner is aglow the summer furnishings are replaced with easy chairs and tapestry curtains to provide a warm and cosy feel. Leading from the kitchen on one side is the master bedroom with antique double bed and bathroom en -suite (jet-spray shower). Another bathroom leads off from the kitchen with jet-spray shower and washing machine. Up three steps to the other side of the kitchen/living area are two more bedrooms, one with twin beds and, adjoining, a children's room, sleeping 4. All bedrooms have oak beams, are wood paneled, with picture lights and ceiling fans for summer days and nights. Wood flooring with scatter rugs.

For early spring, autumn and winter oil-filled radiators keep the rooms warm and cosy. Both bathrooms have tiled floors, extractor fans and heaters. The property sleeps a maximum of 8 people and is equally suitable for a couple with or without children, four adults, or a group of 8. The garden area - both front and back doors of the cottage open from the kitchen/living area on to a large garden area which surrounds the cottage. This is partially enclosed, but can be fully enclosed for families with young children or if you want to confine your dog from roaming too far. It’s particularly easy for people who may have problems managing steps, as you step out from the cottage at the same level into the garden. There is a barbecue, sun loungers, tables and chairs and umbrellas. And also down at the lake side. Parking off street, with ample parking spaces.
