Chez Belliveau was once a working cognac distillery and the dwellings that used to accommodate grape pickers and vineyard workers are now comfortable two and three bedroomed cottages and farmhouses. Open all the year, we are halfway between Saintes and Royan and 8 minutes from the nearest supermarket. The beautiful beaches at Royan are regular attractions and La Rochelle and Cognac offer seafood platters and cognac tasting within one hour’s reach. The Roman remains at Saintes and the award winning International Zoo at La Palmyre are well worth a visit.
Our single and two storey cottages and farmhouse are safely enclosed in over an acre for you to enjoy. Surrounded by vineyards and attractive countryside, along with the woodlands, these are available for nature walks and picnics. Yet all this easily found minutes away from the Route Nationale. All the properties are very well-equipped with dishwasher, gas hob, mini-grill, microwave and large fridge with freezer compartment. The three bedroomed cottages have a full size eye level fitted oven. They each have their own private patio area and garden, patio furniture and barbecue. Travel cots, highchairs and many other babies’ equipments can be provided free of charge. We can even provide you with an introductory local wine case, please ask for details.
Children are particularly well catered for here with their own indoor children’s den, outdoor play area with swings, slide, sandpit etc. We have a laundry area which houses our pool table. We even provide you with books to read from our library.
If you need to relax, it may prove difficult to tear yourself away from our large (14M x 7M), heated, floodlit swimming pool with children’s paddling pool alongside, also heated. The pools are well secured by a fence and self-closing gate, and this enclosed area has an abundance of exotic flowers and trees. We have invested in an automatic watering system to further improve the presentation of the grass and flowers. There are sunbeds and umbrellas.
Games Room - Large and fenced green ground, this space allows a lot of family games : ball, badminton, freesbee and even cricket.
Space for the youngest (less than 12) offers swings, small houses and many toys.
You may see sheep and hens in the close orchard.
Our pool table is situated in the laundry room area and is available at a small charge. It couldn’t be used by young children without an adult.
Our Library is also in the same room than the laundry, adults and children could find here many books in English or in French if you want to improve your french.
Our laundry room is practical and convenient. We make a small charge of 5€ per load to cover the water,which is metered, and electricity. We also provide you with wash powder and fabric conditioner.
Our covered play area has a tennis pong table, a baby foot and a darts play. It is just next door to the bar so all the family can be amused.
The Bar - A very warm welcome awaits you after your journey in our bar or on our covered terrace.
Open every evening except on Saturday during the high season, you could meet us and other families during the nice summer evenings. It is the best place to taste local wines, cognac and pineau or drinking beers.
On Thursday evening during the high season we propose you a 'French Dinner' cooked by Isabelle.

Large authentic property (about 100 m2) – split level with exposed stones and oak beams. Three spacious bedrooms decorated with style by Isabelle.

Located just under an hour to the north with its historical buildings, restaurants, and famous aquarium. In our view it is one of the most beautiful ports in France. A day spent ambling amongst the shops and cafés may even be the highlight of your holiday.
The port was originally used for the export of wines and cognacs from the region and is steeped in history very much of the era of d’Artagnan and the three musketeers.
