Surrounded by peaceful farmland on the edge of the Loire-Anjou-Touraine Regional Nature Park, La Croix offers the perfect escape for guests looking to unwind and experience the slower pace of rural France. Whether enjoying a quiet evening on the terrace with a glass of local Loire wine or exploring the surrounding villages and vineyards, the setting is ideal for both relaxation and discovery.
Located in the Maine-et-Loire region, La Croix enjoys a superb position between the historic cities of Tours and Angers, just under 20 minutes from Saumur and the Loire River itself. The gîte sits between the charming villages of Courléon and Gizeux, perfectly placed for exploring the celebrated châteaux, gardens and hidden gems of the Loire Valley.
The area is particularly popular with guests who enjoy outdoor activities. Quiet country roads, forest tracks and scenic cycling routes make the region ideal for both leisurely bike rides and more adventurous cycling holidays. Canoeing and kayaking can be enjoyed on nearby lakes and rivers, while horse riding enthusiasts will appreciate the area’s strong equestrian heritage, including the world-renowned Cadre Noir in Saumur.
Although inland, the region offers plenty of opportunities for swimming and water activities. Several nearby lakes feature sandy beaches, supervised swimming areas and family-friendly facilities during the summer months.

The ground floor offers level access throughout, with spacious rooms suitable for wheelchair users and doorways with a minimum clear opening of 780mm. The downstairs walk-in shower has also been fitted with a grab rail for additional support and convenience.

Guests can also discover part of the famous Loire à Vélo route along the Loire River. Secure bike storage is available on-site, and bicycle hire can be arranged locally.
For warmer days, several nearby lakes offer opportunities for swimming and water-based activities. Just 10 minutes away, the popular Plan d’Eau d’Hommes features a seasonal restaurant, bar and Aqua Parc during the summer months, as well as stand-up paddleboarding and pédalo hire.
The Loire Valley is also perfect for exploring by canoe. Paddle along the Vienne River around Chinon or enjoy peaceful stretches of the Loire near Langeais or Saumur for a unique perspective of the region’s landscapes.

Special Rental Conditions
Prices for 7 nights+ include all bed linen. Prices for short breaks of less than 7 nights have an additional charge of €15 per person for bed linen to a maximum of €70. We request this be left in the property on departure.
A small supply of tea & coffee is provided for guests to enjoy a cuppa on arrival.
