Nigel & Paula Colman welcome you to Normandy and their delightful holiday cottages at Le Haut Fresnay: La Fermette sleeps six, and Le Fournil sleeps four. A cot can be added to either cottage to accommodate a baby.
La Fermette and Le Fournil are converted farm buildings and date from around 1840. The properties are part of the small hamlet of Le Haut Fresnay, which is situated just over half a mile away from the village of Loré. The market town of Céaucé is about 2 miles away and the mediaeval town of Domfront is 8 miles away.
We hope our cottages offer you just what you’ll need to relax and unwind from the stresses and strains of busy working lives. The peace and tranquillity of the local countryside are what most people notice on arrival and are one of their most enduring memories when they leave.
Le Fournil

Sleeps 4 plus baby
2 bedrooms
Log-burning stove
Electric convector heating
UK satellite TV & DVD player
Le Fournil is built from local granite with a slate roof and adjoins the large barn, which is now our home. The cottage accommodates up to four people plus a baby and is furnished and equipped to a high standard.
Surrounded by five acres of Le Haut Fresnay’s grounds and meadowland, the cottage is set in an acre of private lawns and gardens. In addition, a stream, which runs through the garden, and two ponds attract a variety of wildlife.
Le Fournil has an open plan living/dining room with a separate though visible kitchen.
The living area, arranged around the original bread oven, which is lit inside, has a sofa, armchairs and coffee tables.
The room is well lit by overhead, standard and table lamps.
The dining area has a table, 4 chairs and a welsh dresser. The kitchen, with fitted units, has an electric oven with ceramic hob, a washing machine, dishwasher, microwave oven, electric kettle, toaster, and a 2 door fridge/freezer.
Upstairs, there are 2 bedrooms, a double and a twin. Each has a wardrobe and bedside tables with lamps.
The double bedroom has a dressing table, with drawers, a mirror and a lamp, and the twin bedroom has a chest of drawers.
The small landing has a stair-gate.
The bathroom has a shower, hand basin and WC.
A cot is available on request.
Le Fournil has its own private patio with garden furniture, a parasol and a barbecue. The patio is not overlooked and it catches the afternoon and evening sunshine – a delightful place to relax with a full glass in your hand and a steak on the barbecue!
