we spent five days at Howard's. The stay was excellent, the place is as advertised in the middle of nature (about 1 km from the road) but a 10 minute drive to the Lude and the shops. The cottage is large, large living room on the ground floor and two beautiful bedrooms with their bathrooms. Perfect for those looking for peace in this beautiful area.

We had a relaxing stay, great few days.Howard is a helpful host, available when needed. It is a lovely quiet spot and would be a great summer retreat, especially as the the pool would be available in season. Loads of space for children. - woods to make a camp in and room to run off any excess energy. The house is a converted barn, so rustic. It has a fairly well stocked kitchen,but sadly no dishwasher! Thank you Howard for making us very welcome.

La Huttiere is a lovely and calm country-side place. There is no noise from any city or road, but it's not far from quite a few points of interests in the area. It's an ideal place to relax.
I was there with my family, which include a 2 and a half year-old, and a 1 year-old. They were delighted to find swings (including one for babies) and ball games in the large garden. There is also a ping-pong table, a barbecue (coal and firelighter included) and of course the swimming pool, which is a lot bigger than the one on the photos currently displayed on Airbnb. From the garden there is a path that leads to fields and woods for quick walks.
Howard has two gîtes, Rose and Lily, which seem to be nearly identical in their interior. The garden and pool are shared between the two gîtes, but there was no one in Rose while we were in Lily. The interior is comprised of a single large living room with integrated kitchen. There is everything needed to cook and clean. There was plenty of space for our children to play inside. I appreciated that this room always remained cool, even though it was 30°C+ outside. One of the sofas is a convertible. Upstairs there are 2 bedrooms with one bathroom each. Bathrooms are only accessible through their respective bedroom.
While we stayed at la Huttiere, we visited le chateau de Saumur (40min drive), the Zoo de La Flèche (20min), La Flèche itself (30min) and Le Lude (10min). For groceries, we used the Intermarché of Le Lude.
We had a great time, I recommend it.

We enjoyed our stay at Howard’s gîte. We stayed in the Lily gîte which is spacious, well equipped and cosy. Beds and literie were very comfortable. Huge, great garden which is perfect for kids. Very quiet and peaceful and ideal location if you want a relaxing break from the city. Howard is a discreet yet very attentive and friendly host. Thank you Howard !

We had a wonderful time at Howard’s place. The location is great for exploring the Loire - very quiet and peaceful but you can access the castles and caves on day trips. Also enjoyed cycling on the quiet country roads. Place was very clean and well equipped with lots of thoughtful extras. Would highly recommend.

We stayed 4 days at the Rose Gite. It was the perfect hide-out, away from busy Paris where we live - you reach it from there in only 2,5 hrs drive, and you arrive in a different world! You hear absolutely nothing, only birds and insects, the gite is in the middle of the fields and trees, the house is really comfortable and the garden is just pure luxury. Great for kids to run around. We arrived at 2am because of circumstances and Howard made no issue of that - we received this great welcome basket with breakfast and aperitivo stuff, a nice gesture that makes you feel instantly on a real holiday!
