Pont Neo is our home from home. It's set in a large secluded garden, tucked away amongst the beautiful rolling hills on the border of Finistère and Morbihan. Pont Aven, Concarneau, and the many beaches at Pouldu and Guidel are all within easy reach.
Downstairs is a large open-plan living space, the main room of the house, a cool refuge when it's hot. For most of the year the back door and large living room windows are open all day long. There is a dining area, a well-equipped kitchen overlooking the garden and various places to sit and unwind. The living room has a splendid Breton fireplace, but there is also electric heating to keep it cosy should you need it. We spend lots of time here so there are comfy sofas and chairs, books, games, DVDs to appeal to different tastes, satellite TV, WiFi internet access, maps & information, a CD player and loads of cool music to suit your mood; everything you need for some serious relaxation.
Upstairs there are three good-sized bedrooms, one with an antique French double bed, one with a king size sleigh bed and one with two singles and a truckle bed (which pulls out to make a third single if needed). Besides the loo on the ground floor, there is a large family bathroom with twin sinks and a shower on the first floor, and an ensuite with a bath in the attic bedroom.
The house sits in its own large, secluded garden within a conservation area, surrounded by fields and woods. There are lawns for al fresco dining, sunbathing with a good book and a glass of wine, whatever takes your fancy. It has a sandy bottomed seasonal stream, a small area of woodland, little field and a natural wetland to explore. There is parking for several cars, with plenty of room left to play boules. The garden is a haven for wildlife and the air is filled with the sound of the many birds, the buzzing of the Breton bees and the rustling of the Poplar trees. At night, you can hear the owls hooting and see every star in the sky.
Life happens at a completely different pace around here, so it really is the perfect place to escape to!
