Beautiful white stone gite with heated salt-water pool in Foussais - L'Atelier

L'Atelier is a  single-storey barn conversion.  It offers an open plan living/dining area with patio doors onto the wooden decked terrace. The shower room with WC is off a small hall area as is the bedroom which features a king-sized bed. Tiled floors throughout and a fitted kitchen.

Guests have access to a washing machine, use of the main garden and a newly created sun terrace. NEW FOR 2019 is an 8 x 4-metre heated salt water pool with a large patio terrace and bbq area. Sunloungers, dining table and chairs, patio furniture and parasol.

The property is comfortably furnished. Bed linen is provided and towels can be made available. It is double glazed with some heating for the cooler months. Traditional features have been retained with contemporary renovations to ensure comfort. UKTV is supplied plus CD/DVD players. The gite is for a couple but could be rented along with the second gite by 4 people who like each others company but also like some time alone. Discounts are available if they are both booked by the same party.

The gites were completed in 2012/13 and sit in a courtyard with our home in Villeneuve, a hamlet in the commune of Foussais-Payre.They are finished to a high standard and set in a rural location.

This single storey building has an open plan lounge area with a dining space and a kitchen. The kitchen has fitted cupboards with worktops, an integrated oven, an induction hob and an integrated fridge. There is a cooker hood, microwave, kettle and coffee maker. Crockery, cookware and utensils are all provided. There is a wooden table and 4 chairs in the dining area. The lounge has 2 sofas, a 3 and a 2 seater, an oak coffee table, a rug and a sideboard on which sits the UKTV and DVD players.

L'Atelier features free bikes, as well as accommodation with free WiFi. BBq available.

Books are available. The large french doors open onto the decked area with a table and chairs. The bright tiled shower room is off the internal hall and has a shower, a w.c. a sink and a heated towel rail. The bedroom is also off the hall. This has a king size bed, a rug, a wardrobe, 2 bedside cupboards with lamps, a dressing table and a chair.
Bath towels can be made available for an additional charge but we do not provide pool towels. Wi-fi available. BBq available.

AREA: The area offers much to explore and has a good sunshine record thanks to its micro-climate.  Vouvant, one of the prettiest villages in France is 10 minutes away. Puy de Fou, recently voted the worlds finest and Futuroscope theme parks are within easy reach and are worth a visit. Local lakes and the Mervent forest are within a few minutes drive. Mervent has an adventure course and canoeing facility. Horse riding is popular and the Atlantic coast, an hour away, is good for surfing. The area is great for walks and picnics. Day fishing cards can be purchased in high season.

The area has many places of interest. Faymoreau is an old mining centre with a museum Nieul sur L'Autize is close by and has connections with Eleanor of Aquitaine. It is included with Vouvant and Foussais-Payre for 'nuits musicales' in the high season and Maillezais with its famous abbey is only 25 mins drive. Niort is 26 km from L'Atelier, while Les Herbiers is 48 km from the property. The nearest airport is La Rochelle - Ile de Re Airport, 56 km from the accommodation.
