Beautiful 3 bedroom Gite in Parcay-les-Pins, near Saumur, Loire Valley

La Croix is a beautiful, recently renovated, 3 bedroom gite situated in the Loire Valley.  It has been renovated in a contemporary manner providing all modern home comforts whilst retaining many original features.  It is perfectly located to relax and explore the famous and not so famous sights of the Loire Valley.  Situated in amongst rural farmland on the edge of the Loire-Anjou-Touraine National Park it is a perfect place to sit, relax and unwind whilst sampling a glass of  wine from one of the many Loire Valley vineyards.

Our gite is ideal for those who enjoy active holidays, the area is perfect for cycling with empty roads and endless forest trails.  You can hire out canoes on one of the many local lakes or rivers and with Saumur being famous for its ‘Ecole Nationale d’Equitation - Cadre Noir’ there are lots of local places to go horse riding as well as visiting the Cadre Noir itself in Saumur.  Although not close to the coast there are plenty of choices for swimming too - the many natural lakes in the area have beaches and safe swimming areas which have lifeguards in the peak summer months.  It is also well suited to those who prefer the slower pace of life with many Chateaux, gardens and historic towns within an easy drive.  The layout of the accommodation makes it accessible for all ages and the less mobile

Accommodation:

Living Area - La Croix has a large lounge / dining room with a feature fireplace and log burner - always useful during those winter months!  We have equipped the lounge with a TV, DVD and a Wii games console.  There are a selection of DVD’s and games for you to enjoy.  The TV is set up to receive English television via Sky, so there is no need to miss your favourite programmes, you just need to remember France is an hour ahead! For those occasions where you just want to listen to music we have a radio/CD player with iPod dock as well as separate Bluetooth speaker. La Croix has also recently had WIFI installed which is free for all our guests to use.

Kitchen - The kitchen is equipped with all the modern facilities you would expect including a washing machine, dishwasher, Tassimo coffee machine and fridge/freezer.

Whilst not specifically designed for disabled access the ground floor accommodation provides level and easy access between rooms with sufficient space in all the ground floor rooms to easily manoeuvre a wheelchair.  All ground floor doors have a minimum clear opening of 780mm, however no specific handrails or grab rails are provided within the property. The ground floor consists of a lounge/dining room, kitchen, walk in shower room and large master bedroom and has level access to the front of the property.

Bedrooms - La Croix has three bedrooms  and comfortably sleeps six people .  There is a double and twin room upstairs and a king size bed in the ground floor bedroom.  Both the double and king size rooms have ample space for a cot.

Outside - Outside we have created two areas to enjoy the views and relax. An area to enjoy a coffee or breakfast in the morning sun at the front of La Croix and a lovely patio which enables guests to sit out in the sun in the afternoon and evening looking over the fields - it really is a relaxing view with nothing to blot out the horizon!  We have provided garden furniture for six people including an umbrella for those hot days.  There are also a couple of sun loungers for those who want to do nothing but read a book and sunbathe!
