St Amand provides everything you could possibly wa..

St Amand provides everything you could possibly want for a holiday in rural Provence. Set amongst acres of vineyards, it offers the tranquillity and privacy you need for a really chilled out stay. The pool was very welcoming in the August heat, the large garden superb and well-kept, the long lunches and dinners on the terrace looking towards Sablet were a delight - and just got longer and longer. The house is well-appointed, exceptionally well-equipped and very well-managed. The owners have thought of everything.

The house is ideally located. Ten minutes’ walk from the local small town of Sablet where you can buy delicious croissants from the boulangerie, a longer walk through the vineyards to the medieval village of Seguret (officially one of the most beautiful villages in France), or a drive to any number of small towns with their markets, bars and history and, for the wine lovers amongst us, a fantastic choice of famous caves on the Route du vin.

All in all, an absolute treat and highly recommended.

St Amand is truly an exceptional vacation home and a wonderful place to enjoy Provence and paint the beautiful landscape and the lovely hilltown of Sablet. After spending many hours searching for that perfect vacation rental, we discovered St Amand. We loved our vacation. I painted everyday because the lighting effects from sunrise to sunset across the landscape and Sablet were so inspirational. The patio tables underneath the cool trellis became my artist’s studio each day for a great plein air watercolor experience. St Amand is a beautiful villa, comfortable with an excellent library, immaculately kept, and expertly managed. We enjoyed breakfasts, dinners, and also the pool under spectacular blue skies each day. We were very pleased to find a wonderful bakery, small well-stocked grocery store, and tourist office in Sablet where the merchants were friendly, helpful, met our daily needs, and added so much to our enjoyment and appreciation of Provence. We enjoyed the outdoor market at Vaison-la-Romaine and the lavender fields to the north. There is so much more we want to do and see next time we visit St Amand. We must also note that the stars at night were brilliant and magnificent. Excellent vacation villa. We have many fond memories.

This was our second stay at St Amand and every bit as enjoyable as the first.

We unreservedly add our voice to the chorus of praise that you can read in the other reviews - a perfectly appointed villa with breathtaking views that is well located for exploring but also ideal for chilling!

Insider warning: once you have experienced the patisserie and gelato at Peyerol, no day will be complete without a visit to Vaison!

My wife and I spent a wonderful week with friends ..

My wife and I spent a wonderful week with friends at this lovely property in Sablet. Beautifully situated with a view from the terrace across to the small hill town of Sablet this place has everything - a pool and pretty garden, a magnificent & fully equipped kitchen, spacious and light rooms, shady places for alfresco dining, even a barbecue and a gravel drive for honing one's petanque skills.

You can choose restful days sitting in the garden looking across the vineyards, or travel to any one of a huge number of interesting nearby towns and villages boasting markets and an interesting history. Or you can walk in the countryside surrounding the property, or make a journey to the coast.

As I say, it offers everything at what we considered a very reasonable charge.

Our family had a wonderful stay at St Amand, Sablet. From our intial enquiry to our departure our hosts made it the week a very special occasion. It was a picture perfect home in Provence overlooking the postcard veiws of Sablet - a dream come true for our family.

The home is wonderfully appointed and in Summer the pool is a welcome relief after the daily shopping expeditions. We highly recommend the home especially the location to many wonderful short trips to historical villages (including Vaison La Romaine), extraordinary markets, vineyards that produce great rose and reds and a special favourite the bakery in Sablet for our children. Another highlight was attending Sabine's Provencal cooking class nearby - a special treat for our family.

Enjoy as you certainly won't be dissapointed. We cannot wait to return one day soon.

Our family had an amazing week's stay in Sablet! We adored the proximity of the village and being surrounded by vines. After touring the area it was delightful to come home to our private paradise of St Amand each day. We spent many carefree hours under the arbor visiting with family and drinking rose. We so admired the breathtaking view of the village from here. it was a dream come true. Thank you so much for sharing your delightful property with us!

We stayed at the villa in early June 2011 and had a fabulous time. We had 3 couples in the group and the villa was absolutely perfect for us. It was very well equipped and the setting is just divine!! We had great fun visiting the local markets for supplies (Nyons, L'Isle Sur La Sourge, Vaison La Romaine among the best) and then cooking up feasts which were enjoyed on the terrace. The view of Sablet and surrounds took our breath away everyday!! The house was a great base for walks or car trips to local villages, but we loved just relaxing by the pool too. We would highly recommend the villa and the area and really hope we can return one day.

This is a truly wonderful place to stay. Not only is the house beautifully appointed, it is exceptionally well equipped & well maintained. The gardens are a delight with a lovely pool area and lots of space for children to work off excessive energy. There is even a choices of whether to eat ‘al fresco’ in the sunshine or in the shade. The village of Sablet is buzzy with a choice of bars and restaurants. I can highly recommend this property. The surrounding area is lovely and worth exploring. All in all, a very good spot to holiday.

Our visit to Sablet was a wonderful family experience and will provide us with memories for years to come. The house is in such a wonderful location and our walk into the village of Sablet to the bakery became our morning ritual. Our visits to the many beautiful villages, our delight at local markets and quality of the produce, the delicious food & hospitality of Johannes Sailer at Les Abeilles, are just some of the many memories of our holiday. Upon departure we were already planning our next visit and indeed our retirement to this very beautiful part of Provence.

Seeing the pictures on the website again reminded ..

Seeing the pictures on the website again reminded us of the fantastic holiday we had in Sablet. The house was lovely, very well equipped and the views from each and every window and patio were spectacular!! This was the ideal base for our holiday and each member of the family enjoyed their stay at St. Amand. We took advantage of the location to visit the nearby vineyards, wonderful restaurants, the small towns and villages and my husband enjoyed the central location from which he cycled over 800 km in the two weeks we were there. It has been hard to replicate the morning routine of fresh croissants and coffee on the vine covered patio since we've been back in Canada but the memories and photos keep reminding us that St. Amand is a place we'd love to return to.
