Welcome to the Périgord Noir at Château d’Argentonesse

Our guesthouse, Château d’Argentonesse, is set in Castels, in the heart of the Périgord Noir. Ideally located close to Sarlat and the Château des Milandes, we offer a warm and friendly welcome.

You can choose from five charming guest rooms, including two spacious family suites (also ideal for groups of friends), each with a private lounge, or opt for our independent self-catering cottage.

All guest rooms are located on the upper floor and feature a private bathroom with shower and WC. Each room enjoys views over the grounds and swimming pool.

The cottage, “La Tour Joséphine,” is fully independent and situated in an outbuilding within the château grounds.

GUEST ROOMS

The Royal Suite
A spacious 75 m² family suite or shared space for friends, featuring two separate bedrooms, a bathroom, and WC. The décor evokes a regal atmosphere, with a blue and gold bedroom offering a 180 cm four-poster bed and private lounge, and a second elegant room with a 180 cm bed (or twin beds on request). A small lounge includes tea and coffee facilities, bottled water, and a Nespresso machine. The bathroom features both bath and shower, along with towels and toiletries. Non-smoking, no pets allowed.

Imperial Suite
A 50 m² family suite with a baroque-style lounge, two separate bedrooms, bathroom, and separate WC. Includes one 160 cm bed and one 180 cm bed (or twin beds on request). Guests benefit from a private lounge with refreshments and a Nespresso machine. Bathroom includes toiletries, towels, and a hairdryer. Non-smoking, no pets allowed.

Mélissandra Room
A romantic baroque-style room with en-suite shower and WC. Includes quality bedding, fan, toiletries, and bottled water. Non-smoking, no pets allowed.

Angelic Room
A charming baroque-style room with en-suite shower and WC, high-quality bedding, fan, toiletries, and bottled water. Non-smoking, no pets allowed.

Eleanor Room
A similar elegant room with baroque styling, en-suite shower and WC, quality bedding, fan, toiletries, and bottled water. Non-smoking, no pets allowed.

GÎTE – LA TOUR JOSÉPHINE

Set within the château grounds, this 75 m² 17th-century tower combines character with modern comfort. Located close to the pool, it features a vaulted kitchen, two bedrooms, and a bathroom, accommodating up to 6 guests (extra bed available).

Facilities include a fully equipped kitchen (oven, microwave, dishwasher, fridge, coffee machine), Smart TV, wood stove, free Wi-Fi, and access to the shared swimming pool (15m x 6m). Outside, guests can enjoy a shaded garden area with table and barbecue.

Services

Bed linen and towels are provided. Laundry service is available (€30 per load). Guests can also book massages at the château.

Breakfast can be reserved (€15 per person), and table d’hôtes dining is available with advance notice (€35 per adult, €20 per child). A wine list is also offered.

House Rules

During July and August, rentals are from Saturday to Saturday with a minimum 7-night stay. Outside peak season, a 2-night minimum applies with flexible arrival days. A €75 cleaning fee and €500 refundable deposit are required. Tourist tax is additional.

Pets are not permitted, and smoking is not allowed inside the property.

The Owners

Christelle and Jean-Étienne, long-time admirers of the Dordogne, discovered Château d’Argentonesse as the perfect setting to create a welcoming guesthouse. After years of dormancy, the château has been carefully revived to share its charm and character with visitors.
