Conveniently situated about midway between the bastide towns of Lauzerte and Montaigu de Quercy, La Colamine is a good starting point to explore the countryside of south Quercy or equally an excellent place to enjoy peaceful family days by the pool with evenings on the terrace. The secure pool area with shaded deck area and games in the Barn make this a place for all ages to enjoy in safety.

Popular with families and smaller groups of adults alike, La Colamine's space and views can be very hard to leave at the end of a stay.

Approaching La Colamine along a quiet country lane, you turn into a large space between the Barn and the House which allows more than ample parking space right beside the house.

Entering either the single door or either of the French doors will get you into the large open plan Kitchen/Living room/ Dining room which occupies most of the ground floor.
The round Dining table seats all members of the party comfortably.
A well equipped fitted kitchen includes an electric hob and oven, microwave/oven combination, and a dishwasher.

The Living area has sofas, and a wood burner for colder months with television, DVD player and CD player on hand for entertainment.

A good-sized Utility room with downstairs WC includes a Washing Machine and Tumble Drier.

All Bedrooms and the Bathroom are upstairs with views over the garden and the panoramic view beyond.
A large Double Bedroom has wardrobes and cupboards.
A good-sized Double Bedroom both have windows to the south, and able to take in the glorious view from La Coalmine.
A Twin Bedroom is a mezzanine over the bathroom with narrow steps up.

The spacious and sparkling family Bathroom has a separate bath and walk-in shower. Across the landing is a separate WC.

A cot and high chair are available on the premises.

The outside doors all open onto the pleasant south-facing flagstone terrace, to which the sunlight on the white Quercy stone brings a bright vibrancy, even on a dull day. Coach lights around the terrace illuminate this to make a very pleasant evening space to enjoy barbecued food cooked on the charcoal barbeque which is available for guests to use.
From here you can truly appreciate the view to the south and east across miles of unspoiled countryside.

A good-sized garden includes several mature trees providing shade through the heat of the day, and a path leads to the fenced and alarmed 9 x 5m pool, one end of which is above field level and provides unobstructed views across several miles of open countryside.

In one corner of the pool, the enclosure is a shaded decking area with quality outdoor furniture, enabling rest after swimming, or close supervision for the younger members.

Additional entertainment can be found in The Barn, where a covered area houses a table tennis table and dartboard, offering hours of entertainment to children of all ages - and their parents.

The quiet country lane on which La Colamine stands winds for several miles across the local landscape, making cycling and walking peaceful and safe.

La Colamine is in the centre of an area of great natural beauty, and you will not have to go far to find great landscapes - and the view from La Colamine will rank well with them.

The area is full of small charming villages and hamlets, most without shops or bars, but most retain the flavour of rural France. The larger villages and towns are listed in the general area information, the nearest being Lauzerte and Montaigu de Quercy which are both medieval hilltop bastide villages with narrow streets, medieval timbered houses and spectacular views from the ancient stone walls.

Montaigu de Quercy has a water park with a large beach area, pedalo hire, zip wires together with restaurants and bars - a day at the seaside inland.

The area abounds in produce of all kinds - The Cahors AOC wine area is just to the north, and as you travel around you will see a wide variety of produce being grown - cereals, soft fruit, vegetables, nuts and much more. Many of these products will be found in the markets which are usually held on the same day of the week in the villages, and a list of these is also in the general area information.

Both Lauzerte and Montaigu de Quercy have a selection of restaurants offering local produce and more traditional favourites
