We only stayed for a few nights but felt most comfortable at Kyrenia. I'd looked at a lot of properties and this one seemed to be the only one that had it all - good outdoor space, nice view, pleasant decor, nice extras (bikes, canoes, piano) and the most rare of all - a good and plentiful indoor lounge area. There is nothing worse than in the evening having 4 adults and two children fighting to sit on an uncomfortable 2 seater clic-clac sofa.
The development is modern but very pleasant. On a boat trip on the nearby canal, all the tourists were taking photos of our temporary home. Apparently Richard Branson's mother is a neighbour.
We planned this holiday to meet up with good friends who had recently had a baby so it was important to find somewhere comfortable. It didn't disappoint. So many rental properties are filled with cheap furniture and fittings but Kyrenia had quality fittings which helped with the homely feel.
As for the area, I hadn't visited the Camargue for over 20 years and I couldn't believe we have such a hidden treasure on our doorstep. The spectacle of the flamingos was mindblowing.
Very enjoyable short stay, would definitely recommend and would go straight back to Malcolm if we go back to the Camargue.

Mike & Liz Purdue:
Malcolm, our family had a wonderful week staying in Kyrenia. The villa is lovely and clean with lots of facilities. We would recommend having a spare gas bottle for the BBQ as it's inconvenient when it runs out in the middle of cooking (though it is a great BBQ and this would not happen often). A lovely setting for meals on the terrace. We also enjoyed the use of the bikes. So much to see and do in the area too. Overall a terrific holiday!

Lorraine & Nigel Gill:
Great property, great area very clean & wonderful weather as well.
Almost too hot at times. Car essential for making most of the lovely area.
Many thanks for the experience.

Marie-Line Deléarde:
Very pleasant house: well maintained, spacious, in excellent condition and with a particularly well equipped kitchen.
Very beautiful marina; the originality is its location: a pleasant and quiet environment, a privileged place which is close to the tourist places and shops . The meals can be taken on the terrace in relaxing surroundings.
In brief, a very nice house which gives the will to return.

Dear Malcolm, thank you for allowing us to use your property in Aigues Mortes, quite simply it was stunning.
Presumably this is because the property was not purchased as a holiday letting opportunity but as an “owners home” typified by the high quality furnishings, fittings and facilities.
We found Aigues Mortes itself a gem of a town. Putting aside its history it was so close for spending evenings at the many restaurants. The general location is brilliant for

Arriving at Kyrenia villa in January after leaving a cold and wet Burgundy for the 5 hour drive to Aigues-Mortes I was amazed at the marina complex as when I lived there 14 years ago the marina was still at the planning stage for what was then camargue wildland. Thankfully I had Debbie to meet me and lead me to the villa, which I found very tastefully yet comfortably decorated. after unpacking the car I sat peacefully outside on the marina deck with a well deserved glass of chilled white wine and watched the beautiful camargue sunset turn the waters of the marina from yellow, to orange to red!

I thoroughly enjoyed my 6 weeks there, feeding the ducks who adopted me for my homemade bread and strolling into the village to enjoy the great choice of cafes and restaurants which are still open in winter - availing myself of of the WiFi facilities at the same time. Even when the temperatures reached an unprecedented -6 degrees C the villa was warm and comfortable without the need of supplementary heating. Well equipped with books, DVD's, and of course satelite TV to keep up with my favourite soaps!!

I made use of the bicycles available to shop at Lidl (even though it is less than 5 mins by foot!) And as always enjoyed my strolls through the tree-lined markets on Wednesday and Sunday mornings - certainly a meeting place for all the village.

Visit the Bar LePerroquet for their Rock Blues concerts and Flamenco evenings, amazing ambiance and cocktails - and the Tac Tac Bar for the widest range of whiskies ever seen in one place - plus Marc's great hospitality. La Vice Versa restaurant a must for incredible food at great prices. Chez Coco for great pizzas, toro and chips and succulent lamb roasts on sundays.

I enjoyed it so much I have booked again for December/January/February and can't wait to return!!!
Many thanks

Hi Malcolm,

Well we have returned from a wonderful holiday in France. We had hot weather right up until the day before we left which was excellent.
We loved the villa, it was well equipped and very comfortable, clean and well presented. The information you provided was great and I will recommend the villa to everyone I know.
We had everything we needed. We had a go on the canoes and we cycled to Le Grau du Roi a couple of times. It really was fantastic.
We bought a children's body/boogy board and a folding beach chair that we have left in your garage. They are good and hopefully your other guests will find it useful. If you'd rather they didn't clutter up your garage please feel free to throw them away.
I hope that we will rent out your villa again in the future. Until then I look forward to hearing from you about a refund for the security deposit.
Thanks very much Malcolm.
Kindest regards
