This charming detached self-catering cottage is situated at the end of a country lane in an idyllic country setting. It is very spacious and can accommodate up to 8 guests. 

It is South facing and has no passing traffic, ensuring total peace and quiet! The cottage comprises a cosy living room/dining area with a teleivision (satellite) VCR, DVD player, and music system. The property is equipped with Wi-fi. The kitchen is well equipped with firdges, a dishwasher, microwave, gas hob, and washing machine. There are 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. One double bedroom is located downstairs, in addition to a shower room. There is also a second lounge (or an extra bedroom with bunk beds) with a lovely open fireplace. Upstairs there is another double bedroom and a twin bedroom, aswell as a family bathroom. 

The rest of the property comprises two lovely decked terraces outside, complete with barbecue. The garden and lawns are beautifully maintained. It is the perfect spot to enjoy meals al fresco. Guests can also enjoy the small pool table for further entertainment. 

It is possible to walk or even cycle the quiet roads and green lanes to reach the medieval Château-de-la-Roche-Jagu perched above the Trieux. It is free to access the beautiful gardens, breathtaking views and lovely walks and trails. Pontrieux is just 5 mins away, where guests will find all local amenities including a supemarket, restaurants and craft shops. There is also a wonderfully scenic railway to Paimpol. Another activity nearby is canoeing. Other activities include fishing, horse riding and golf. There are a number of wonderful local markets to visit.

Small market in Pontrieux on Monday, fruit and veg, fresh crepe and live ducks, chickens and rabbits. Bigger markets in Paimpol on Tuesday and Guingamp on Friday, both excellent with cheeses, meats and local fruit and veg in season.

Abbaye de Beauport - old monastery with gardens
Moulin de Craca - 12k to NE. Restored windmill with picnic area. Superb views of Bay of Paimpol and St Brieuc
Isle de Brehat - vedettes from Pointe de l'Arcouest 18k. No cars, bike hire and good walks and little beaches Very pretty with Mediterranean micro climate. Places to eat or picnic.

Chateau bistro 1km (or 10 min walk along lanes). Serves teas coffees drinks and light lunches.
Various creperies. Italian restaurant in Pontrieux, serves pasta dishes and good pizzas, also does take-aways

Pontrieux
The town has lovely old houses and 2 squares, one tree line with car park. The other is triangular and has old granite fountain
The church has very colourful stained glass windows which make a colourful pattern on the floor when the sun shines through.
There is a walk alongside the river past the old lavoirs, little boats with electric outboards can be hired for a riverside view.
Trains leave from the station to Paimpol in the N or Guingamp and Carhaix to the S
There are various artisan workshops, sculpture, painting and toy making
Intermarche open Mon- Fri (closed for lunch 12.30-2.00) but open all day on Saturday. They now have large coin operated washing Machines and tumble driers too!

Water and Steam
Canoes and kayaks can be hired in Pontrieux and the water between the locks is good for wildlife, or take a boat trip past the lavoirs. Steam and small diesel train from Paimpol to Pontrieux goes beside the Trieux estuary, with stunning views of chateau de la Roche Jagu perched high above the river on a rocky outcrop.
