We had a fantastic week here. La Maisment has everything you need and is fantastic for keeping kids occupied - heaps of toys / games / books. Great welcome pack and the best homemade jam I have ever tasted!

Surroundings are lovely and it is a great base for exploring places like Honfleur / Deauville / Rouen.

We really enjoyed our stay. The gite has all we needed. Very well equipped and comfortable. Maddie and Bruno really went out of their way to help us.

We would recommend it to all.

The weather helped and there is plenty of garden furniture for sitting out in it, with a drink of course.

We didn't really eat out in the locality so can't comment on that aspect.

We enjoyed the market in Brionne and the car boot sale at Nassandres.

We could not have asked for a better holiday. La Maisment easily accommodated parents, grandparents and a busy 2 year old! Maddie and Bruno are excellent hosts providing a lovely welcome pack and invaluable information in a handy folder, about the local area. We did venture to Arromanches, Rouen and Honfleur but also found plenty to do in the local area such as the lake at Brionne, Harcourt, Bec Hellouin and a chateau. The Leclerc supermarket on the road to Bernay was huge and had everything we needed in terms of food shopping!

Our toddler loved the garden, especially the slide and feeding the chickens! La Maisment is great for families. Thank you so much for a brilliant holiday.

Nice cottage tucked out of the way which suited us perfectly.Maddie was very attentive but not intrusive, a lovely place to stay in a tiny village.

The house was lovely - simple but had everything we needed. The kids rooms upstairs are on a mezzanine so not ideal for those younger ones who need to tune out to go to sleep, but the place had all the amenities needed and the garden the kids just couldn't get enough of!

Maddie was a good host. We were welcomed with plenty of fresh food for a wonderful breakfast including eggs from Maddie's own chickens. The house was clean, comfortable and well equipped. The grounds are well kept. There is plenty to do here for a family, inside and out. This property would benefit from a wifi connection. Fred and Lucille

Really lovely place to stay with an 18 month child, very well kitted out. She would have quite happily played in the garden with all the toys and watched the chickens all day every day! Lots to explore without needing to travel very far. Very peaceful place to stay, we thoroughly enjoy our visit.

A very clean, comfortable and well equipped cottage. Excellently positioned for access to so many places of interest across this area of Normandy. In spite of rain at some point of most days, we were able to find somewhere to visit on each of our 10 days, and discovered there was so much more that we just didn't have time to fit in. Definitely going to need a return visit, The owners provide lots of information on the local area and the best ways to reach various towns and attractions. They also provided a welcome pack of food stuffs that was very well thought out - everything you need on arrival before you have chance to get to the supermarket. They were very easy to contact and quick to respond when we needed to get in touch or ask for advice. Our only suggestion would be that the property description should make it clearer that access to the main bedroom is actually via the bathroom and that La Maisment does adjoin another cottage, Le Batison. Although each property has its own patio/dining area, much of the garden facilities are shared. Whilst this didn't cause us a problem on this visit (the other property was only occupied for 3 days of the 10 we were staying) if the weather had been better and we had wanted to make use of the sun loungers, we would not have had any privacy if a family staying in the adjacent cottage had been using the children's play equipment or were accessing the parking area. This aside, we had a lovely holiday, one of the most comfortable beds we have had in a holiday cottage, and found more to recommend about this property than to find fault with. Our thanks and appreciation to Maddie and Bruno for being such wonderful hosts and looking after us so well.

Really enjoyed our stay. Lots of toys for the kids, really enjoyed the fresh veg and eggs and feeding the chickens, and Maddie was lovely. 2 bedrooms are on a mezzanine level with a balcony down to the ground floor. Worked out fine for the kids but would have liked to have known before booking

We had a wonderful break at la Maisment. Our two young daughters (4 and 1) loved the toys in the house and in the garden. They also adored the chickens and spotting fish and frogs in the pond.

The location is fantastic - in a quiet village, if you just want to relax at home, but with plenty of things to see nearby and close to a town for supermarkets and other amenities.

The children loved swimming in the lake in Brionne. We also visited Chateaus, Moulin Amour (30 mins drive away) and local markets.

Maddie was a fantastic host, great communication and ensured we had everything we needed. It is well equipped for young children (cot, high chair, potty, baby bath, toys, books).

Other reviews have commented on the children’s bedroom being on the mezzanine and so open to downstairs - we didn’t find this a problem as we sat outside on the patio area in the evening while the children went to sleep. The children loved their bedroom/playroom.

We had a fantastic time and would highly recommend staying here.
