Charmingly restored 400 year old holiday home in Palairac, an award winning village in the Corbieres region of Languedoc, France. Our lovely home can comfortably sleep up to 10 people and provides spacious accommodation, over three floors, with all the necessary amenities for an enjoyable stay. There is an abundance of great activities and attractions in the area including swimming in the nearby rivers, walking, cycling and horse-riding. The sandy beaches of the Mediterranean are within an hours drive. The nearby towns of Tuchan and Pazioles are 15 minutes away and boast good shopping facilties, bars and some fine restaurants. Other towns worth exploring nearby are Narbonne, Perpignan, Carcassonne, Lezignan, La Grasse and Ceret.
The village is the most picturesque in the Corbiere region; protected from any modern development because of its 10th Century church and other medieval monuments. There are lovely walks in and around the village and you will receive a warm welcome from residents who will encourage you to join in the village Fete, (14th July) or for a game of Boule.
The house itself is our second home and so, is exceptionally well equipped. The kitchen has all the 'tools' needed for proper cooking and laundry facilities are separate and adequate for large numbers. Our guests are often extended families or friends with families who are looking for somewhere to relax and spend time together in a home away from home.

There are many sites of interest within an hour or 2 of the village. These include the Romanesque Abbey of Fontfroide and the walled city of Carcassonne, the spa town of Rennes Les Bains, Lagrasse, Tautaval, Narbonne and Perpignan. We are an hours drive from the Spanish border and a day trip to Figueres, Girona or the beach towns of Rosas and Caceres is very doable.
Closer to home, you will find idyllic spots to take a picnic and swim. Our family particularly enjoy visiting the nearby campsite where there is a friendly outdoor cafe and a beautifully kept pool in lovely surroundings. Visitors are welcome and there is no charge. The Cathar castles of Aguiler, Peryperteuse and Queribus are also nearby and certainly worth a visit.
