Recently restored stone farmhouse on the edge of the famous village of La Roque Gageac, in the Dordogne. The property is set in a peaceful location and boasts secluded gardens set below an impressive cliff with its own cave and spring. The house features lovely woodland views and a vine-covered dining area with a barbeque, great for al fresco. The property is positioned on the edge of several beautiful woodland walks with wonderful views. There's plenty of space for an extended family, plus parking for 4 cars.
The houses comprises 3 bedrooms - 2 double (1 with en-suite bathroom), 1 twin, 2 shower rooms (hairdryers) and a laundry room with washing machine. The Large dining family kitchen with exposed beams and stone includes a range cooker, dishwasher, fridge freezer and microwave). The lounge overlooks the pool with exposed beams. For entertainment there is WIFI, freesat TV, DVD/CD player and ipod dock.
There's a 10 x 5 meter pool with a large decking terrace, a gravelled area to the front for playing boules etc.and a grassy area at the back.
La Roque Gageac is considered one of 'France's most beautiful villages'. Here you can find several good restaurants, cafes, gift-shops and boulangerie. Without driving you can take a leisurely boat trip, hire a canoe, visit caves or play tennis. Enjoy breathtaking views over the valley to Castelnaud from the village's medieval cobbled paths and have a pichet of local wine overlooking the river. The picturesque medieval town of Sarlat with its lovely markets and festivals is just 4 miles away.
