Superbly Renovated Barn Gite to rent in Dordogne | France
Renovated barn gite in the Dordogne valley near the beautiful, friendly market town of Argentat. The barn is situated in a meadow of walnut trees looking down onto the river Dordogne, surrounded by wooded hillsides. There are beautiful, uninterrupted views from every window/door.
Argentat has many good restaurants and a lovely market. In the summer there are many fairs with live music as well as art and pottery exhibitions. Activities include canoeing, cycling, walking, golf, tennis, fishing, bird watching and hang gliding or relaxing by our heated pool.
The spacious, light, comfortable lounge/diner opens out onto the south west, the kitchen onto the east with a patio and garden furniture. Kitchen fully equipped with dishwasher and microwave, utility room with washing machine etc. A spacious bathroom with wet room shower, twin wash basins and wc also on the ground floor. Upstairs there are 3 large double bedrooms which can accommodate other beds or cots and a spacious bathroom with corner bath, wet room shower, twin wash basins and wc. Underfloor heating downstairs with woodburner in lounge to create a cosy ambiance in winter and the thick stone walls with double glazing throughout keep a cool temperature in the hot summer months.
All linen provided. We can be flexible on prices depending on number of people.
Bookings can be mid week to mid week out of high season.
Sorry no pets. No smoking inside gite.

a large disabled friendly bathroom with a wheel in shower, a bath, 2 washbasins & wc,
3 spacious large double bedrooms with either double or single beds, cots or extra beds can be provided,
there is also a large driveway to the upper floor.
Downstairs:
a spacious dining room and lounge with woodburning fire,
kitchen plus dishwasher,
utility room with washing machine,
another large shower room on groundfloor with wet room shower, 2 handbasins & wc; warm in the winter with underfloor heating the groundfloor and radiators upstairs

There is swimming in the many beautiful lakes but if you want to rest at home we have a large, heated swimming pool where you can peacefully take in the beauty.
If you are feeling creative there is also the use of a studio either for pottery or painting.
