Wisteria Cottage - Charming and Beautifully Furnished Holiday Gite in Janaillat, Limousin

Set in the Creuse department right in the centre of France, Wisteria cottage sleeps up to 12 guests. ​The rooms are light and spacious, and the whole house has a "home from home" feel.

Wisteria cottage has outstanding views of the surrounding countryside, which proves to be spectacular throughout all the four seasons. The cottage has been refurbished to enhance its' original features whilst adding modern touches to provide a relaxing, enjoyable and comfortable family holiday. The property offers fully equipped self-catering accommodation with everything need for a relaxing and fun family holiday. The gîte is suitable for families of all ages, and we can provide a cot and highchair if required.

Wisteria cottage is very large and spacious and is very popular for rental by couples, families holidaying together or by large groups.

The location is perfect for that ideal ‘get away from it all break’ where you can enjoy a leisurely walk or a bike ride and admire the beautiful countryside. There is also a local riding stables. We do advise that you have a car to enjoy the vast countryside and all that the Creuse region has to offer.

The cottage is located on the edge of the rural village of Janaillat, which is situated centrally within a triangle of 3 towns, La Souterraine, Bourganeuf and Gueret, and is only a short drive away from the village of Bénévent-l'Abbaye. You can visit historic towns for markets, cafés and restaurants, or you can simply relax by the pool and look out onto the amazing views.

The Cottage, has many original features including oak beams, stone floors and original granite fireplace with decorative bread oven, The cottage has been tastefully renovated and decorated, and equipped to provide a relaxing a comfortable holiday for all the family.

The property comprises of:

Ground Floor: The large open plan Kitchen / Lounge has solid oak beams and it's original fireplace with log burner, and is a real hub for the whole family. There are two large inviting sofas, a TV with UK Sky Channels, French Freeview Channels and a DVD player, a small dining table (to seat 4) as well as the well equipped kitchen, with Dishwasher, Gas Cooker, Fridge/Freezer, Microwave,Toaster, Coffee Machine and Washing Machine, and all the necessary kitchen utensils.

Separate Dining Room / Sitting Room, has a large table to seat 8 people (plus highchair), also here is a relaxation area with a selection books, puzzles, DVD's and an I Dock for you to play your music.

1st Floor: 2 spacious bedrooms, 1 Double Four Poster Room and another Double Room. There is also a shower room with toilet and separate family bathroom with toilet.

2nd Floor: Another 2 spacious bedrooms, 2 Twin / Family rooms (with 2 Single beds & a Double Sofabed in each room) both with original oak beams, wooden floors and Velux windows.

All bedrooms are freshly decorated, and they all have plenty of hanging and drawer storage. Fans are provided in hot summer months & electric heaters and winter bedding for the colder season.

All bed linen and bath towels are provided, but we do ask that you bring beach towels for use around the pool and the lakes. These can also be hired from us for a small fee.

Wi-Fi internet is available throughout the property, garden and pool area.

​Private Terrace / Garden: The terrace has patio furniture with a large table and 12 chairs plus parasols for shade on a hot sunny days and a BBQ, ideal for eating al-fresco or to spend relaxing evenings viewing the night sky with it's myriad of stars and listening to the grasshoppers in the nearby meadows. The family friendly large lawned secure garden is fenced on all sides so is safe for small children. We have lots of outdoor games & activities to keep the whole family entertained.

We provide a complimentary welcome pack upon arrival, including Tea, Coffee, Sugar, Milk, Salt & Pepper (not for short term bookings).

Our in-ground heated pool, open from May to October (weather depending) is cleaned and maintained on a daily basis, and is fully compliant with French regulations & law. The terrace around the pool has relaxing sun-loungers for you to soak up the sun and enjoy the amazing views of the superb lush green rolling countryside. 

Linen, duvets, pillows and bathroom towels are provided in the price, but please bring your own beach towels. We do hire beach towels (please enquire). There is a washing machine, tumble dryer, outdoor airer, iron, ironing board, hairdryer and fan provided. During the Winter months, we provide electric heaters and winter bedding, aswell as a daily supply of log wood (October - March).
