Modern Villa with Private Pool, Near Carcassonne in Aude, Languedoc

Villa Mimosa is ideally situated in a lovely exclusive residential area called Lac du Cavayere, where there is a beach which is only 5 minutes’ walk from the villa. There are pedalos, crazy golf, volley ball courts, and a new activity on the water! There is also an activity centre for the kids or grownups, which is high in the air, and a zip wire to take you across the lake - and now wakeboarding with a bar and rustic restaurant. Although the villa is set in a quiet area, you are minutes from so much activity. We would suggest you hire a car, there is a bus that stops by the lake, but it does not run very late at night.

There are direct flights twice daily from Stanstead to Carcassonne Airport (8 minutes drive to villa from Airport). With the flight only taking 1 1/2 hours you could be sitting round the pool enjoying a glass of something cool, only a couple of hours from leaving the UK! .. or why not try out TGV which leaves Waterloo via Paris direct to Carcassonne.

Some Villas say they are in Carcassonne, but they are in a village near Carcassonne, we are literally 5 minutes’ drive/or bus ride to the Cite! Castle, where there are 100’s of shops, cafés and restaurants. The town of Carcassonne itself has numerous bars, cafes, shops, theatre and a local market which is held twice a week. There are numerous picturesque villages to discover in the surrounding area, such as the medieval market towns of Mirepoix, Minnervois and Corberes.

If you want to explore further afield then Andorra is just a 2 hour drive from the villa, (my husbands driving) where you can stock up on all your duty free purchases and also designer goods. Barcelona is just 2 hours’ drive and Gerona 1 hours’ drive. There is a public bus which runs from the lake to the Castle and Town and there are supermarkets a short drive away where you will find all your everyday needs. But we would recommend that you hire a car to explore all the lovely villages around.

It is 40mins drive from the Med at Narbonne, so you could be sitting on the beach, there really is so much to do:

If you want to just laze around the pool that is fine, but there is walking, riding, cycling, shopping, eating drinking, wine tours etc etc.

ACCOMMODATION:

Kitchen and dining
The kitchen is modern and is black with stainless steel, dishwasher, fridge-freezer, separate drinks fridge, oven and hob, extractor hood, microwave, washing machine, There is also a breakfast bar and 4 high stools and coffee-machine.
There is table and 4 chairs outside the kitchen with further dining on the other side of the dining room (seats 8), under a gazebo with is where most outside meals are taken and where the bbq is.
Living rooms
The lounge is large with 2 leather sofa's satellite tv, and dvd player. Our dining room is open plan with doors opening onto pool area, large glass table and wrought iron chairs (for 8) and also a smaller table and chairs for breakfast, outside kitchen.
The lounge is large and spacious with glass, marble and white walls!

An open staircase in the lounge leads to the fourth double bedroom.

The villa boasts a secluded south facing walled garden comprising of fruit trees, lawn and large patio around the pool, there are sunloungers, chairs and large table seating 8 for al fresco eating, and large bbq and small table and chairs outside the kitchen seating 4, plus seating outside bedroom 1 seating 4. The pool size is 9-4mt and 0.9-1.90m deep.
There are shady areas around the garden to sit back and relax!
