La Roussille is the most beautiful place. We stayed there earlier this year, lucky to make it due to Covid and had an amazing time. The local area is beautiful. The barns are spacious and very well appointed and it is so peaceful and relaxing. We spent each evening sitting outside enjoying the peace and quiet with a glass of wine. The owners, Lara and Paul, are very friendly and helpful and can’t do enough for you. I can’t recommend the place enough. We really hope to go again.

We’ve had a fabulous time at La Roussille. We stayed because we were en route from the UK to Monaco and wanted to break the journey.
We stayed for 5 nights and now wish we’d planned for much longer.
Due to its location, it is very tranquil with the only noise being from local wildlife. This made it a very relaxing time.
The facilities are first class and the gite was equipped with everything (and more) than we have at home.
Lara and Paul were excellent hosts and provided us with recommendations and information about the area. They were there for everything we needed yet allowed us our privacy to enjoy the facilities, grounds and our downtime.
Due to its remote location it is not a place to get a taxi to go for a meal out, so eating out means driving. Therefore, we had lunch out every day and then made dinner at La Roussille. This worked well because of the facilities in the gite and it’s a great place to have a bar-b-q and eat outside. This also allowed us to enjoy the choice of food, cheeses, wines, etc from local shops and markets.
This was our first visit to the Dordogne region of France. It offers a wealth of places to visit. There are numerous tourist hotspots, such as châteaux and towns with many sights and restaurants that are within easy reach by car. These are set amongst beautiful countryside, forests and villages.
We enjoyed it so much we are very tempted to leave the UK and move to the area, though finding somewhere as beautiful and well equipped as La Roussille would be difficult
