We have just returned from a lovely two week stay at La Maison Blanche. This is our third visit to the area and this is by far the best property we have stayed in. The house is clean, spacious and very well equipped and the owners, Pete and Jeanette are incredibly friendly and helpful. We will be returning next year.

The property is in a lovely area and very close to the amazing coastline and lovely towns and villages. We cannot recommend the property or area highly enough. It is a perfect place for a family holiday, our girls (aged 8 and 6) loved the swimming pool at the property and it was a good size and well maintained. We are already looking forward to next year!

We stayed here in 2014 and had to return with all the family which now has 3 grandchildren, oldest nearly 5 , youngest just 2.

They loved exploring the garden for bugs and lizards and were able to explore and play safely. The pool was really enjoyed by all and children grew in confidence.

They,we, all enjoyed being able to take breakfast outside and evening meals and leisurely drinks in the evening.

During the day we were able to revisit old places of interest and also take in new places. A truly relaxing holiday.

Jeannette and Pete were the welcoming perfect hosts and were also able to assist when I had a puncture sourcing a replacement tyre( in fact 2 as French law requires) in nearby Saintes. We hope to return as it is the perfect place to relax with family and to see our friends Jeannette and Pete again.

Thanks for a wonderful time

We first visited as a family in 2011 and returned again in 2013. As soon as we arrived in 2011 we knew that it would be somewhere we would return to time and again. The wonderful welcome was quickly followed by a tour of a beautiful holiday home that is both spacious and comfortable. The interiors are finished to a high standard and the kitchen is a delight to both cook and eat in, that is if you can stay away from the pull of the large garden and the bliss of sitting in the sunshine and sipping something cool. We found the location to be perfect for us. Tucked away in the countryside but within easy reach of the sea and wonderful villages such as Talmont. We stayed for two weeks in both 2011 and 2013 and explored the great variety of places to eat. Jeannette and Peter are the perfect mine hosts and contribute greatly to a feeling of well being and comfort. Our children love the new pool and like their mum and dad before them have ,thanks to Maison Blanche, begun to appreciate the charms of rural France. We are booked again for 2015 and are counting down the days until we can return to a special place that we view as being far more than a home from home.

My husband Phil and I embarked on a journey with our two 80 something year old mum's in trepidation of what might lie ahead. Any concerns were soon laid to rest as we received such a warm welcome from Jeannette and Pete who welcomed us into their beautifully restored home, which we all agreed was a true labour of love and thought we had struck gold. Jeanette and Pete could not do enough to make us feel at home and there is nothing they have not thought of and their attention to detail is inspiring and the house a real home from home. Our mums thoroughly enjoyed their stay and we even got my mum into the pool even though she has not swam for a number of years. The area is stunning and we wished we had been able to stay longer as we only scratched the surface in terms of what there is to explore in the region. Phil and I particularly enjoyed the music festival in Saintes and after bumping into Jeannette, Pete and their ex pat friends we were taken under their wing and had a great night out in the town. We had a lovely relaxing week and hope to be back someday soon and wish Jeannette and Pete all the best for the future and thank them for being such perfect hosts. Best wishes, Christine, Phil, Helena and Gwen xx

Having been a regular visitor to France for over 30 years staying in a variety of accommodation I can honestly say that this is by far the the best property that my family have had the pleasure to stay in.

The property has been tastefully restored and offers a high standard of accommodation. The extensive grounds are all useable and well maintained and I felt safe for my grandson to wander freely as he played. The pool is of good size and is cleaned everyday and much fun was had. We were able to eat every meal outside, a bonus.

There were plenty of places of interest for all the family:- a dinosaur park, zoo, small ports and of course beaches within 30- 40 minutes.

The owners Jeannete and Pete were able to offer advice on all aspects of the area including places to eat and visit. They have made us feel very welcome on both our visits and we have already booked for 2016 so we don't miss out on this gem. Thanks.

This was the best gite we have ever stayed in. The property is beautifully restored, with a lovely pool and a large grassy area. It was spotless when we moved in; and it is kitted out to a very high standard, particularly in the kitchen.

The landlords could not have been more kind and helpful - in every possible way. They advised us on places to visit in Charente Maritime, and provided countless maps and brochures. They also ensured that we were comfortable in the gite.

We would very much like to return and would recommend it strongly to anyone looking for a gite in that part of the world.

From the very first minutes of our arrival at La Maison Blanche we knew we were going to have a great holiday. We received a very warm welcome from our hosts, and as soon as we set foot in the property we were impressed. The accommodation was immaculate, spacious and very well equipped. All the furniture and fittings were of a high standard. The house easily accommodated our family of four adults and two children with plenty of space for everyone to relax and do their "own thing"!The children particularly enjoyed the "den".

The garden and swimming pool were perfect for fun and games, and the pool was beautifully maintained and warm!

We enjoyed family cycle rides in the surrounding countryside on virtually traffic free roads and visits to many of the nearby towns and attractions. The children enjoyed the zoo and chateau visits, but most of all swimming in the pool.

We would thoroughly recommend this property to anyone seeking a peaceful holiday with congenial hosts and a splendid holiday situation.

PS the local Pinot was very good especially one we bought in the market!
