Le Pech d'André is a historic family-run wine estate located in Azillanet in the Minervois region of southern France. The estate traces its roots back to 1701 and has remained in the hands of the same family for more than three centuries, making it one of the longstanding multigenerational vineyards in the Languedoc region.

The domaine spans just over 30 hectares and is distinguished by its agroecological philosophy and deep commitment to biodiversity. The vineyards are cultivated in traditional “gobelet” bush-vine style and are non-irrigated, reflecting a low-intervention and environmentally conscious approach to viticulture. The estate landscape includes small vineyard parcels interwoven with pine forest, scrubland, hedgerows, olive trees, streams, ponds, and natural meadows, all designed to preserve ecological balance and encourage biodiversity.

Le Pech d'André specializes in organic and natural wines made from traditional and heritage grape varieties of the Languedoc. The winery emphasizes freshness, elegance, and varietal authenticity rather than heavily extracted or oak-driven styles. Their cellar practices intentionally avoid over-ripening, carbonic maceration, and barrel aging, while limiting additives and interventions during vinification. Several cuvées are certified under the “Vin Méthode Nature” standard through the Syndicat de Défense des Vins Naturels, of which the estate is a member.

The winery produces a broad portfolio that includes:

  • AOC/AOP Minervois wines
  • AOC/AOP Languedoc wines
  • Local “Vins de Pays”
  • Natural wines and rare varietal wines
  • Sweet wines and traditional aperitifs
  • Bag-in-box wines and curated assortments

Among the estate’s highlighted wines are:

  • Les Lunes Pourpres, a Syrah and Mourvèdre blend
  • Zora, a dry white wine with apricot aromas
  • La Rivière Blanche, a Bourboulenc-based white wine

Beyond wine production, Le Pech d'André also functions as a small traditional farm. The property includes olive groves, orchards, vegetable gardens, and farm animals, reflecting what the owners describe as a continuing “peasant culture.” The estate produces olive oil and grape juice in addition to wine.

Wine tourism is another important part of the domaine’s identity. Visitors can enjoy cellar tours, vineyard and botanical walks, cultural events, exhibitions, and countryside accommodations in restored cottages on the estate. The cottages offer guests a peaceful rural retreat surrounded by vineyards and Mediterranean landscapes, combining rustic charm with modern comfort. Staying on the estate allows visitors to experience daily life at a working wine domaine while exploring the natural beauty and historic villages of the Minervois region.

Le Pech d'André has also received recognition within the wine world. In 2023, renowned sommelier Andreas Larsson selected two of the estate’s wines among hundreds of French organic wines, highlighting the domaine’s growing reputation for quality natural and organic winemaking.

The Accommodation

We offer a simple and authentic accommodation in our country cottages to discover and share the life of our wine estate, relax in the swimming pool under the pines, walk through the surrounding hills and scrubland, but also enjoy all the exhibitions and events that we organize at Le Pech d'André, and the many resources of our beautiful region, the Minervois.
