La Tannerie - Within the grounds you’ll find three newly renovated properties La Secherie (sleeping 5), Les Baignades (also sleeping 5) and L’atelier du Bouton (sleeping 4).

The gites are perfectly located a 5 minute walk from the quaint village of Chalais a typical French town with a hive of activity, ample bars, shops and restaurants.

There is so much to discover at La Tannerie, including a large, newly refurbished (12m x 6m) enclosed swimming pool shared by all the gîtes. Beyond the pool is an acre of lawn space for all guests to enjoy. The enclosed garden has a children’s swing and slide right next to the fresh herb garden.

Discover the petanque court and our well stocked box of outdoor games. As well as superfast wifi – even by the pool.

We are delighted and proud to announce that we have very recently had our gîtes and facilities inspected by “Tourisme de France” and all 3 gîtes have been awarded 3 stars. This assures our guests of our commitment to a high quality, consistent and affordable holiday.

In addition, there is an award-winning Monday market every week where you can sample local produce and people watch with a croissant and coffee.

Overlooking the town is the imposing and beautiful 16th century Chateau de Chalais. With it’s surrounding moat and excellent restaurant it’s definitely worth a visit.

There is a busy train station in the heart of Chalais with local routes to Bordeaux and Angouleme, both with onward connections via TGV.
