Have just spent 2 weeks in le Chateau d'oz...we arrived to a warm welcome from the owners Andy and Gill. They showed us to our accomodation a lovely, clean spacious apartment with all the mod cons to satisfy anyone wishing to self cater with everything you wish you had packed but forgotten from bottle opener to potato peeler!
We occasionally ate half board, breakfast was fresh croissants delivered by the local baker and delicious dinners were cooked by Gill served in their quaint dining room.
The children were pleased with the lounge room facilities - big plasma tv with dvd player, table football - and we had a range of books to chose from the bookshelves. Linen was changed as we requested, and nice fluffy towels!

The location was perfect to visit the mountains or drive to the local lake or the city of Grenoble. The owners were knowledgeable of local events and helped make our holiday a relaxing one

In July this year my wife and I decided to spend a week of our holidays in the French Alps. We stayed at Chateau d'Oz in the village of Oz en Oisans.

We were greeted by our hosts Gill & Andy who are an English couple who own and run the Chataeu. We found both of them friendly, warm, welcoming and helpful.

The accommodation is good. A nice bed for a good nights sleep, a clean bathroom and a small kitchen. Our apartment had a sunny and private terrace off the kitchen which was nice to sit and read.

We opted to have breakfasts in the dining room and the food was fresh and local. On three nights we ate at the chateau and experienced Gills superb cooking. Her meals rival any that are offered in the restaurants in the area. We did experience some great restaurants and Andy has a wealth of knowledge on where to eat out.

There are lots of things to do in the area. From a lazy day in the sun, to a mountain drive, a hike, biking both road and offroad, fishing, canoeing and the ski fields are vast. We hope to come back in the winter to experience the skiing.

Our time there was thoroughly enjoyable and we look forward to returning both for the hospitality and for the area.

My partner and I stayed at Chateau d'Oz in early September, before and after hiking the notorious GR54 - in excellent weather.

Evening meals were an absolute treat with Gill's cooking, and you can order fresh baguettes and pastries to be delivered for breakfast, yum! If you feel the need to walk it off, there are lots of beautiful walks accessible from the front door, or a short drive away. Relaxing in the evening in our spacious room with a view overlooking the mountain was just gorgeous. The beds were extremely comfy too!

Gill and Andy were fantastic hosts with lots of knowledge of the area. We can't wait to come back and ski at Christmas!
