Val Rive comprises of five luxury self-catering holiday apartments and two historic holiday cottages in Léhon, near Dinan, Brittany, France. All of the accommodation is well furnished and equipped to a high standard in Bréton style. The apartments of Val Rive afford beautiful views of the Rance river. ‘Le Pintadeau’ cottage has its own private garden and the other cottage and apartments share a 1.5-acre terraced garden – again with views to the Rance. Additionally, there is private, off-road parking adjacent to the house. In total, the property comfortably sleeps up to 24 guests, making it ideal for group bookings of families or friends who would like to be independent but together on one site.

Rose cottage is situated beside the main house of Val Rive. The cottage is well equipped and furnished to a high standard with antique and solid oak furniture throughout. The accommodation is on three levels, consisting of an open plan lounge, dining and kitchen area on the ground floor, twin bedroom and shower room/WC on the first floor and a spacious ‘penthouse’ bedroom (with king-size bed) on the second floor. There is a secluded patio area beside the entrance to Rose Cottage and guests also have access to the larger shared patio, terrace garden and private off-road parking next to the property.

Built in 1814, Val Rive is situated in a river valley in the quaint quartier of Léhon on the outskirts of the historic town of Dinan – one of the best-preserved medieval towns in France. Val Rive’s setting is very picturesque, overlooking a medieval toll bridge over the Rance from where a cobbled street leads to the 9th century Abbey and ancient ruined Chateau of Léhon. Indeed, Léhon has the status of ‘Petite Cité de Caractère’ (small town of character) and visitors fall in love with it, returning year after year to this charming village.

For those wishing to swim there is a 25m public swimming pool (outdoor heated, with waterslide) less than 5 minutes walk away. Léhon also has a tennis club (with four indoor courts and one outdoor court) about 10 minutes walk up the main street to Dinan. Dinan town centre can be reached on foot in about 20 minutes or by car in 5. The riverside paths in front of Val Rive lead into the tranquil Breton countryside – perfect for walking, cycling or taking a picnic – and to the scenic river harbour of ‘Port de Dinan’ where you will find many restaurants and brasseries. From here you can walk up the pretty cobbled street of Rue Jerzual, through the old town wall gates, to the centre of Dinan. The Rance flows into the sea between Dinard and St Malo, and these picturesque seaside towns are well worth visiting too.

There is much to explore in the surrounding region: rugged beaches, ruined castles, beautiful churches, and town squares with delightful cafes serving their local specialities. Brittany has a vibrant social and cultural life with many musical events, large and small. A wide variety of other activities is well catered for, including: golf, hiking, rock climbing, fishing and many watersports. The region is easily accessible from the UK with ferry ports at St Malo, Roscoff or Cherbourg and with Ryanair providing very low-cost flights to Dinard.
