What a wonderful stay, lovely house, garden and pool so close to Sarlat town. Local shops are excellent, recommend a sneaky martini at Cafe Le Gambella just down the road on the right hand side. Butchers are excellent, cooked some delicious meals using their produce.Sarlat market is great for veg and cheese.

Try the walking tour of Sarlat, pop into the tourist office to pick up a map, definitely worth while as you will venture down hidden alleyways and discover the history of Sarlat.

Highly recommend the taxi/tour service of Christoph and Sarissia, Taxi and Touring a la carte. We used them for tour and taxi services, telephone number +33608706167.

Thank you Jackie and Geoff for the use of your beautiful home and giving us wonderful memories. We hope to return.

Wonderful time here in Sarlat. This house is perfect for seeing the area. Lots of great things to do within easy distance. The house is in a beautiful location, and with the high temperatures this week the pool has been a godsend.Everything in the house is geared for visitors, and it's really well equipped.

This is my first time in the Dordogne and it's absolutely beautiful. I certainly house yo come back soon.

Thank you Jackie & Geoff for a wonderful holiday

We had a wonderful few days in this gorgeous house, and it was everything we had hoped for-lovely French feel to the place, excellent location and a fantastic pool (particularly during the heatwave we had)

The house was equipped with everything we needed and more-you really have thought of everything!
Thanks again, we hope to be back next year.
Merci!

How appropriate to stay in this house and emerge ourselves in the Medieval village of Sarlat !!!
Relaxing by the pool with a cool glass of wine was perfect after a long day of wandering through the town or the beautiful pays de la Dordogne!!

We are back again!

Thank you so much Jackie & Geoff, we had the most fantastic stay again. The house was beautiful and the pool was perfect. We made the most of the silos and spent 99% of the time outside.

Drinks at Le Pub and dinner at plenty of new restaurants! No car needed.

Thank you!

This is our 7th visit to the Dordogne, and at least the 6th rental at "Cordelliers"

Thank you Jackie & Geoff for buying this property and continuing to allow lucky people like us to stay here.

This yeas weather has probably been the most changeable, much cooler than expected, rain & hail, but still plenty of sunshine to enjoy the garden and pool.

We always love a long lunch at Le Vieux hogus in Tremolat, lovely drive. We stopped at himeuil on the confluence of the Vezere Dordogne rivers to see another lovely village with a stony beach. Book a table under the plane trees in the garden, easy to book as all the reception staff speak English.

This trip we visited the gardens of Eyrignac which we saw 20 years ago-much changed and lovely but Marqueyssac are still our favourite gardens with its cliff top views to Castlenaud, Beynac, Faynac Chateaux and the town of Roque Gageac.

Don't miss Lascaux IV, book online - this time we did it last minute & got in at 3.30pm English tour, great for all ages, especially the children as they get their own laptop!

Buy your foie gras & confit of duck at the E Le Clerc supermarket - much cheaper and great quality, rather than paying extortionate prices in Sarlat.

A lovely drive if you are interested in Bastide towns is to start in Belves, worth a quick look for its 11th century centre and 15th C covered market. Then onto Monpazier, Byron, Chateau Byron and finally Monflanquin, a great place for lunch (park at the top of the hill next to Elise St Andrew)

Of course Rocamadour and Padirac caves are another must, and if you feel like a big day out add Colognes La Rouge to the itinerary. When visiting Rocamadour, enter from the top, drive past all the parking costing 5euro or so, and head to the well signposted "Le Chateau" parking which has 500 places and is free. Take the lift "Ascenseur" down into the town, buy the more expensive ticket to go all the way to the bottom of Rocomandour town, see the Sanctuaries, churches, walk up into town. Afterwards take the lift back up to the car and walk to the Ramparts.

MARKET DAYS:
Monday: Beynac,Les Ezyies (small one on the river)
Tuesday: Le Bug - highly recommend
Wednesday: Sarlat & St Cyprien
Thursday: Domme & Monpazier
Friday: Roque Gageac
Saturday: Sarlat
Sunday: Carnac, H'muel & St Cyprien (highly recommended)

On Wednesday evenings from late June to mid August Belves has a night food stall market which id fun, bring your own cutlery, glasses & nice plates if you don't want to eat off paper.

Wine shop - an excellent wine shop, no more expensive than the supermarkets with great advice from English speakers is in Les Eyries - Vin Blanc Rouge, 3 Ave de la Prehistoire.

We were so lucky to be able to stay in this beautiful house. So quiet in the garden, sipping drinks relaxing by the pool, yet the bustling town centre is only a few minutes walk away. The markets on Wednesday & Saturday are well worth a visit. Recommend Le Regent for food located in the old town. The house itself is charming, with everything you need for a perfect holiday. Even with the high temperatures outside, the house was lovely and cool inside. We had a fantastic time and hope to return again soon.

What a gem! What a find! You have thought of it all down to lavender sachets in the drawers. Thank you so much for allowing us to stay in your delightful house in the most charming of places. We love all things duck and Sarlat offers the best. Exploring the surrounding countryside has been a pure pleasure. We had the good fortune of spending 6/21 in Sarlat and enjoyed the village come alive with music. We hope to come again and thank you.

Wow, what a totally wonderful stay!

The house has everything you could ever need. It is secluded and quiet , yet so close to everywhere. We even had a dip in the pool!!! We had a lovely walk around Beynac and had a delicious lunch there at Hotel Du Chateau. The local wine shop kept us well supplied-we had lots of the incredible bomaine l'ancienne cure(great with all the cheese)

Thank you so much for everything, we really hope to come back soon!
