Chalet Altitude1300 is a self- catering property in the French Alps, located on the sunny hillside of the village of Les Houches in the Chamonix Valley, Haute Savoie.It has bright Savoyard decor, characteristic of the region. Winter sun!

Wonderful views from every room!

Access to the piste is at the rear garden of the chalet, so, no need to use your car.   Plenty of space and parking  yet close to all amenities Sleeps up to 6 guests. You have the entire chalet to yourself  .The garage is my area for excess items..

Your accommodation is on 3 levels comprising a ground level entry with storage for outdoor wear and skiis, boards and boots.  There is also a unit, under the stairs, which has a large fridge and a freezer.

Up one flight of stairs brings you to the first floor which has an open plan lounge with a woodburning fire, a dining area and an additional seating area with a sofabed..

Patio doors lead to an outdoor dining balcony with stairs leading down.

The kitchen is fully equipped with a full size stainless steel cooker with large oven, a fridge, small grill/oven,microwave, coffee makers and dishwasher. Has all the necessary smaller appliances such kettle, toaster, blender.  Dishes, cutlery and kitchen utensils. There is a deep freeze and an additional fridge downstairs as already mentioned....

.There is a library of books, DVDs, CDs and player ,radio. board games,cards.Childrens' items.       Satellite TV, French and English channels.                                                                                         Wi-Fi.Mobile phone communication.

Also on the first floor is a utility room with washbasin and shower cabinet,  Washer and dryer machines.

The second floor Has 3 bedrooms and a large bathroom. 2 of the bedrooms have a double bed, one looks out the back of the chalet and the other looks out the front. The third bedroom has 2 standard single beds and a single sofabed that sleeps 2 singles/ ( 4 single beds total) which looks out of the front of the chalet.

There is private parking for 2/3 vehicles in the chalet drive.  

There are 2  areas outside for sitting and there is a BBQ.

Activities that guests of the chalet can enjoy locally are skiing, sledging hiking,walking,driving, mountaineering, tennis, fly fishing, wind-surfing and whitewater rafting, paragliding,sightseeing...

No extra expenses in chalet, all is  included in the  price. except firewood.

Sorry, but as there are open stairs, the chalet is not suitable  for children under 3.

There are 2 sledges at the chalet for childrens' use.

The property is partially fenced..

There are fire extiguishers on 2 levels, a fire blanket, a smoke detector and a carbon monoxide indicator.

The Prarion ski piste is accessed from the back chalet garden and downhill takes you to the Prarion ski station.  The Bellevue puste is found a short walk downhill or uphill and will take you to the Bellevue ski station.

The nearest chairlifts are 300m uphill from the chalet or at the Bellevue ski station.

These nearby ski slopes cater for all levels of skiers, with green,blue,red and black runs.  There is a ski kindergarten near the Prarion ski station, linked to the ski school. Also a junior sledging area.

If you need to cancel, a full refund will be given up to 5 weeks prior to your holiday start.

Self Check In and out times can be flexible on request as long as the days are not changeover days in the peak season.

Special Rental Conditions

When making a booking, payment can be made by either electronic bank transfer or Paypal for deposit and balance payments.
Rental rates include electric heating, bed linen, towels, electricity, gas, taxes, end of stay cleaning, children's items, unlimited free WiFi and satellite TV. French and English channels.
Firewood is an optional extra and can be purchased in the village.

Once availability is confirmed by email or a pre-arranged phone call, a 25 %deposit(GBP) of holiday cost is required to hold your booking. The balance of your rental payment is due 5 weeks prior to your holiday start.
A caution( damages deposit) in either cash or a cheque cheque of 350GBP/ 370 euros should be lodged with the owner on arrival. This cheque( cash) is not deposited and is returned to you after your holiday unless a deduction is required , after discussion with you.
You will be asked to complete a Contract of Reservation Form with your details and email this to me, which I will countersign and return to you. This also enables you to receive your Carte d'Hote from the local Tourist Office to allow you free travel on public transport ( train and bus) in the region.
Les Houches has complimentary bus shuttles, a train service, hotels, restaurants, cafes, ski shops garage with car wash, tabac store with fuel pumps, 2 supermarkets, car rental ( Red Panda), Ice rink, a Microbrewery, Library, Tourist Office, Post Office, Pharmacy, Medical clinic, Organic shop
