Luxury Holiday Chalet Near Abondance, Chatel, Haute Savoie, France / South Facing Reviews

We having been visiting the Chalet for 7 years now and it just great! The Chalet is always clean and welcoming. We have holidayed there in the winter and summer but whatever the season there is just so much to do in the valley and surrounding area. The Chalet is a great base from which to explore the French and Swiss Alps or towns and cities surrounding the lake. The Chalet comfortably sleeps 12 with space for cots too! We often fill the Chalet with family and friends. We find having a washing machine and drier are the saving grace when holidaying with Children and whilst there are some great places to eat locally, the cooking facilities at the Chalet are so good that cooking and staying in are not chore. I recommend you stay at the Chalet and am confident that once you have you will become, like us, a regular visitor.

We love this place, this is the second time we have visited and love the fact that for 7 of us we get a large chalet without having to pay for the extra bedrooms we aren't using. We use this chalet for a skiing holiday and feel instantly at home as soon as we walk through the door. The chalet gives you everything you could possibly need and the kitchen is well stocked with all utensils etc. that many other rental properties do not have. We regularly fight over the vast DVD collection as to what film to watch. We hire cars when visiting but it looks as though the buses are pretty regular to get you to the slopes (closest one is about 5-10 mins drive away). There is a lovely bakery nearby for daily baguette and pastry supplies and a supermarket nearer Chatel itself. Defiantly worth a visit!

The owners of this 5 star chalet know how to tick all the boxes by providing what they themselves enjoy. We stayed in 2012 and returned this year to find everything just as immaculate as it was two years ago. It's not just well equipped; the furnishings, décor and equipment speak volumes for the owners good taste. The location is good as you have access to a large area in which to ski. Staying local is much quieter than going as far as Avoriaz which suits us at Half term. We have had good snow on both holidays and found plenty of small restaurants' at reasonable prices in Abondance and along the road to Chatel. However we found that evening meals shared with our family of ten in Chalet Pelerin, with the log fire burning were hard to resist and settled in as if it was our own home. Wish it was!

A wonderful, clean and well equipped chalet. Fantastic location for skiing the portes de soleil or lake Geneva. Very easy drive from the airport. Suitable for groups as 6 good sized bedrooms with plenty of room in the communal areas. We have been back twice now and would certainly go back again if we wanted a large chalet as ideal for three families of 4.
