Our stay at Beau Rivage in August 2022 was nothing short of a lifeline after the challenges of the past two years. The entire world felt uncertain, and planning a holiday seemed like a distant dream. However, stepping into Beau Rivage was like entering a haven of comfort and tranquility. While we may not have ventured far from Beau Rivage, we didn’t feel the need to. The pool and the delightful playroom kept everyone entertained, creating fabulous moments for our entire family, especially the kids who wore the princess dresses out on the odd time we did visit the village. Donna’s thoughtful touches, even in the face of uncertainties, made our stay not just a holiday but a rejuvenating experience. Beau Rivage became our refuge, a place where we could reconnect as a family and find solace after a tumultuous period. It was an extraordinary getaway and we left with hearts full of gratitude for the wonderful memories created in the midst of challenging times. Beau Rivage proved to be more than a holiday destination. It became a symbol of resilience, comfort and the joy that can still be found in the midst of uncertainty.

What a wonderful stay at Beau Rivage! My family and my sister’s family stayed here for a week in July, and it was just perfect. Donna was so helpful pre-arrival, and answered our questions about the area and the house without hesitation. We arrived on a Sunday and so no shops were open, so the offer of some food and drinks on arrival was fantastic, as was the opportunity to hire beach towels. We arrived into beautiful Longeville-sur-mer on a sunny day and opened the house door and we loved it straight away! A lovely, airy downstairs with patio doors that opened up to the pool - a very safe and considered pool for young children - with lots of sun loungers and chairs to lounge around on. The bedrooms and bathrooms were thoughtfully decorated and very comfortable. The kitchen had everything you could need - along with a fab drinks fridge. Bright, airy, and so comfortable. We felt at home, away from home. Donna also had lots of special touches throughout the house which made it very special. A little treasure hunt for the kids when we arrived which was thoughtful and fun! (I remember going to villas in France when I was a child, and there was nothing like this haha!). The area itself is beautiful. Right next to the house is a play park, and a short walk to the village took you to the BEST bakery which we got breakfast and baguettes at every morning, and some lovely little restaurants and a creperie. The village is so clean and pretty. There is a larger supermarche in the village too which is very handy. The coast area is lovely with so many nice beaches - and warm sea! And just over 1 hour drive from the airport - excellent location. I will not hesitate to recommend Beau Rivage for a family holiday. We had a brilliant time and we aim to be back very soon. We visited Beau Rivage with our daughters and their children earlier this year- a party of 12. Our week was memorable in that the villa was spacious, comfortable and very well maintained and our every need ( and that of our grandchildren) was catered for.
The swimming pool was a highlight and was safe for young children in that it was enclosed with a lockable gate and the adjacent terrace and private garden made for a very enjoyable stay.
A short walk gave access to a very attractive village with regular markets and friendly bars and restaurants. A short walk in the opposite direction gave access to a nature reserve with excellent birdwatching- turtle doves in abundance! There was a longer walk to the beaches (half hour), but 5 minutes by car with free parking as a bonus.
The Vendee is great for a family holiday and Beau Rivage was a perfect base for us.

I have to say that this gite was absolutely wonderful. We would love to go there again. The kitchen equipment was first class (better than at home), everything worked, the gite was spacious and very welcoming for children and the owners went to a lot of trouble to ensure that the holiday was perfect for both adults and children. The nearby beach was patrolled by lifeguards and was a surfer's paradise and the sand perfect for sandcastles. There are a number of other attractions nearby, all of which were well worth seeing and which we visited.

I've never been welcomed as Donna and Jay did with my family and I. Such an amazing couple and a beautiful and Hugo house. This house felt home and i will come back for sure. Donna and Jay i am waiting for you in Marrakech inchallah. take care and talk soon.

We loved staying at this beautiful villa. Donna and Jay were great, warm and welcoming. Communication was very efficient and easy. We loved spending time with them enjoying an England world cup football match together. The villa is beautifully maintained and cleaned to a high standard. We didn’t have kids but if you did it would be great for keeping them safe and occupied. We would highly recommend this villa and we would definitely stay there again. Thanks!

Absolutely incredible experience. Donna was so helpful. The house was clean, perfect and very family friendly. We had a great holiday. Absolutely loved sitting in the backyard making meals having the kids swim and enjoying what French life has to offer. There’s also an awesome market in town that was one of the better French community markets we’ve seen.

We had a wonderful stay at Jay and Donna’s place! They were very friendly, welcoming and super flexible. Communication was smooth and they really did their best to make ourselves feel like at home. The place is big and very adapted to a family, the kids’ playroom is a banger (our kids absolutely loved the bouncy castle and all the costumes available!). Also, it is really well furnished so you’ll have everything needed to cook and even do a BBQ. We definitely recommend this place.

Donna and Jay are welcoming, considerate, and professional hosts who truly go above and beyond. They oversaw so many thoughtful details that made a tremendous difference in our stay. The home itself is beautiful -open and spacious, with Italian tile floors, many windows and patio doors, and a cozy fireplace that made it feel both elegant and comfortable. The beds and bedrooms were exceptionally comfortable and roomy, and the layout of the house -with ensuite rooms -provided the perfect balance of privacy and downtime for couples and families alike. The living and dining rooms were the great connectors, where everyone naturally gathered to share meals, watch movies, and work on puzzles together. The kitchen was certainly the heart of the home -stocked with every pot, pan, appliance, coffee maker, and teapot imaginable. We enjoyed cooking together daily, and Donna’s attention to detail showed in everything from the quality of the cookware to the abundance of glassware and table settings (enough for forty!). During our stay, it felt like we never had to wash a dish -there was always another beautifully clean set ready to go. We also wished we had our grandchildren along, because Donna has created an incredible children’s playroom on the first floor -complete with a bounce house, dress-up clothes, and plenty of space for fun and imagination. The grounds opened into a beautiful yard and patio, with views of the church spire and stunning sunsets in the evening. The pool and hot tub were the perfect way to end each day. We can’t say enough wonderful things about our stay -Donna and Jay are simply the best.

Donna gave me a tour of the villa so I could see first-hand what a lovely property it is. The villa feels spacious, luxurious and is exceptionally well equipped, with plenty of room for large families, groups of friends and multi-generational holidays. The private heated and fully fenced pool is a real highlight, and the hot tub provides a perfect place for adults to relax. The dedicated children’s playroom is another fantastic feature and shows how thoughtfully the property has been designed for families. Beau Rivage also enjoys an excellent location: the village’s bakeries, cafés, restaurants and markets are within walking distance, while the beautiful Vendée beaches are only a short drive away. Donna and Jay were wonderfully welcoming, and their care, experience and enthusiasm for creating memorable holidays were immediately apparent. I would happily recommend Beau Rivage to anyone seeking a luxurious, family-friendly property with superb facilities and space for a large group.
